Hak Etme - Rules

Flat and arid as far as the eye can see, the desert is interrupted only by the presence of hulking skeletons from creatures long extinct, along with rolling expanses of sand dunes. Devoid of life and colour, the world is bleached white and beige... that is, until it rains. During these rare times, Hak Etme comes alive in a shocking display of vibrancy. Flowers bloom across every available surface, and the sands ripple with rainbow hues. It takes about a week to cross Hak Etme on foot.

The Furnace
The ground here is packed tight, riddled with spidery cracks and void of moisture. Skeletons litter the area, preserved by the immense heat that leaves little time for decay. Mirages glisten over the endless horizon, but will grow no nearer despite your best efforts.

Boneyard
To the north of the Furnace, what was likely a mass exodus has resulted in the most amazing and horrifying graveyard of bones. Partially obscured by sand, skeletons can be found from creatures ranging from the gargantuan right down to the miniscule.

Sunshine Pools
Littered among the dunes are a handful of sulfuric pools. With softly boiling liquid reeking of rotten eggs and leaving a fringe of white crystals around the borders, these pools serve as a deathly reminder of just how little water exists here.

Sea of Dreams
These salt flats are pure white for much of the year, their harsh glare causing temporary blindness in those trying to cross during the daytime. But even by night the passage is dangerous, the salted ground sucking the moisture from the very bodies of the living. Still, the true danger of the Sea comes when the white dust is kicked up by desert winds, making navigation impossible and causing mild hallucinations. For brief periods just after a rainstorm, a thin layer of water rests on the surface of the flats and creates a perfect mirror of the sky.

Suvahasi
The tumultuous events of the Second War have caused the vibrance of the Greatwood to spill into the easternmost edges of Hak Etme, creating an oasis as toxic as it is gorgeous. Overgrowth of flora (poisonous and otherwise) runs rampant here, the intense heat combining with the lush environment to provide a perfect nursery for budding plant life. While certainly a refuge from the desert, moving too quickly through the Suvahasi can release plumes of hallucinogenic pollen from the surrounding flowers.
