The Feverlands - Rules

A ghoulish swamp, thick with the smell of death and decay. From the ground up to the knees, a putrid yellow fog clings to every available surface. Rife with bogs, mud-like quicksand and fearsome creatures that linger in the dark, this place is also home to some very interesting flora. It takes about a week to cross the Feverlands on foot.

The Hanging Tree
Huge, gnarled and surrounded by the deep bog waters, this tree is rumoured to have been used for many an execution, and has been blamed for the surrounding area's spooky reputation. With bark that bleeds red when struck, branches heavy with ropes that howl when the wind whips through them, and black, sticky leaves that cause sweltering blisters on any they fall upon, the ghosts and their stories seem preferable to the wrath of this tree.

Tar Pits
The ground drops away abruptly into an expanse of thick, hot blackness. Almost impossible to anticipate through the fog, the carcasses of stranded animals can be spotted on the fringes of the pits, where creatures have stumbled blindly into the tar. Debris and dead leaves scatter the surface of this slowly bubbling soup, and vague lights wink through the gloom.

The Sallow Swamp
Gnarled trees crown the Sallow Swamp, and the fog clears around the tangles of their roots. A mix of murky water and mossy humps, one can hop through the swamp to navigate it. Just be careful not to fall in.
