Tune out the Noise - Kaiden - 03-03-2023

Kaiden had spent far too much time in the city lately. Helping develop Torchline to be more accessible to mer worked in their favor, but it was still more time among civilization then they were used to. Having walls around them was claustrophobic, even if it was just the walls of the canals.

Swimming along the coast, Kaiden took a moment to simply enjoy the sun on their back and the sound of the waves crashing onto shore. The soft hum of the sea life around them was far superior to the hustle and bustle of Haulani and the Underwater City. Barral-rolling contently, the mershark continued their swim.

Brilliant red fins waved in the water like banners of coming royalty. Instead, it was Andromeda. Lazily she floated along the warm currents, letting the ocean decide where to take her. The beauty of her appearance didn't give much indication of what was going on inside of her head, for the mer was merely thinking of what her next meal might be. She could care less of the dangers that might lurk around this close to the coast, but what was life if not exciting?

Almost apathetically, Andromeda finally took control of her own body and destination. Another glimmer of fins caught her attention, and she angled herself to swim towards the mershark. [say]"What brings you out here?"[/say] She asked, tone dripping in gold and honey.

Kaiden heard the whisper of fins in the waves just before a voice called out. Whipping around, they assessed the stranger. Objectively she was pretty they assumed. Colorful fins with facial features alike some of the art that they'd seen in the city. But the mershark felt not attraction, only annoyance at having been disturbed.

Scowling they spoke, [say]"Swimming."[/say] Kaiden glanced around the two mer, [say]"Why are you here?"[/say] Why disturb them? They were a stranger and had made no indication of wishing for company. Who was this other mer and what did they want? Kaiden was uncertain of her motives, and they didn't like it.

[say]"Swimming."[/say] She replied, her gold and honey tone accompanied by a brilliant, gleaming smile. Amusement flickered in her eyes at herself, really, as she copied the mershark. She couldn't will her features to take on their scowl, though she contemplated it for a moment. Flicking her banner-like fins, Andy angled herself some to be able to do her own assessment of the stranger. [say]"Are you from the city? I haven't seen you...although the ocean is a rather large place."[/say] A curse that the world held that Andy hated -- not knowing everything about everyone because everyone was too far spread and too far apart.
