Amalia manages to grab the attention of two nearby wolves, who appear in a flurry of teeth and claws to defend Melita. Even better, she will have no trouble finding the staff, leaning against a tree about 30 feet away and starkly obvious in the dark woods. Almost as though it was put there on purpose...

While she's distracted by the hunt for the staff, Shia attempts a sneak attack! And boy oh boy, is he bad at being sneaky! Instead of any sort of grace or true stealth, Shia comes barreling out of the woods, raving something incomprehensible about relevancy and not being famous and transformers. He's about halfway between the women, but it's Amalia he charges at, lunging forward and tripping spectacularly over a root.

Shia comes to a stop at Amalia's feet, somewhat dazed. What will you do?

MELITA

It was a funny trick of fate that Amalia had left her staff back at the first fight. Melita would be laughing, but her leg is burning, twisting the skin around itself and bleeding, and she cannot bring herself to find the humour. In time, maybe, but not right now, when her blood dripped down to her ankle and she held shaking, determined but anxious hands over the wound.

"I will be fine, don't worry." She says, trying her best to be as sunny as she can be, despite the tears in her eyes. Though it turns out she doesn't need to play brave for long, because before Amalia can get very far Shia is coming through the woods, terrifying in his intensity yet for some reason she cannot bring herself to be all that scared.

Especially not when he falls over a root and hits the ground. Immediately the girl seizes her chance, forcing herself to crawl over and taking an arrow from her back, alighting it with fire and plunging it deep, deep as she can, between Shia's shoulder blades.
