Got ideas for traditions/customs for any given area that's not in the lore already? Things you've written into threads that you'd like to be canon/shared with others? Post below!

Hollowed Ground

Funerals:

Bodies are used to fertilize the ground, since they were so barren for so long.

Greatwood

Funerals:

Halo

Funerals:

Burn their dead because the ground is too hard to dig into. It's nice because they are warm in a way they wouldn't have been in life.

"May they burn brightly" - common phrase to show respect to the dead.

Torchline

Funerals:

Sets bodies onto pyres that float into the ocean.

Feel free to ignore any of these suggestions, since I am not an expert on the Greatwood by any means.

On death for Fae: Fae are buried with a seed, so a tree can grow from them. They give their bodies back to the Greatwood that sustained them during life

On a completed unrelated note, Fae children (and occasionally Fae adults) have giant mushroom jumping competitions, to see who can bounce highest

Torchline teenagers play The Isles Game. Doing so successfully is more or less seen as a rite of passage. The object is to hop from one Isle to another, out to the Maw, and back again. It can be done in teams or solo. Really good players are often hero-worshipped by kids, and sometimes there are adult competitions, too, though it's really more of a 'keeps the kids out of trouble' thing. There have also been deaths whilst playing, as the game requires one to be a strong swimmer and have some strategy in mind.
