it's just a spark, but it's enough to keep me going
The Undercroft was incredible.

Sohalia could stay among the stacks of books and tomes forever, and she would die a happy woman. It was with a child-like glee that she explored, picking books seemingly at random from the shelves to flip through, and then placing them carefully, reverently, back where she found them. Sometimes, she would find something interesting in a particular passage, and then she would stand in the aisle, her eyes skimming through words hungrily, her lips moving silently in time with her reading, oblivious to the world around her for a few blissful moments.

She had been wandering for a few weeks, having left home not long before, and this was her favorite place so far. She'd never seen anything like it.

She stayed in the upper levels of the library, where things were warm and dry, finding the lower, submerged levels too sad to contemplate. All that knowledge, ruined and lost. Even if some of it remained on the walls, in the rocks, among the algae - there was so much more that would never be recovered.

She found a section on the history of Caido and made a selection that looked interesting. And there she stood, flipping through the pages to read interesting passages, her head bowed as her graceful fingers ran across the pages.

LILITU
Lilitu headed down to the Undercroft in her Maned Wolf Form. Her fur is a reddish-tan colour, with a thick, black mane running down the back of her neck and over her shoulders. Long, lanky, legs leisurely along the lush green grass and down into the Undercroft. Orange and white ears perked up, and an orange tail with a white tip swayed behind her.

She wanted to search for a book about the Attuned, and a couple on the gods. Do some research on herself, mostly, and she was curious about the gods, too. Find out a little more about them. Books were lined up on shelves, the search for finding the right books would probably take awhile.

Sohalia wasn't sure how long she stood among the books, peering at the pages, running her finger along the interesting passages. At some point, her neck began to ache with the weight of her bowed head, and she straightened, stretching her neck from side to side to loosen it. Perhaps it would be better if she were to sit and read, and so she did just that: she settled gracefully upon her floor, her skirts gathered around her ankles, and returned to her reading in a much more comfortable position.

And it was in that position that the maned wolf found her: leaning against a bookcase, her legs tucked beneath her, a thick tome of history in her lap. She mightn't have noticed the wolf at all were it not for the whisper of paws on the dusty floors, but her head shot up and she stared, momentarily uncomprehending, at the creature before her. After a moment, however, she realized she was being rude, and she returned to her book. If the wolf needed help, it could ask her; otherwise, she would simply let it be.
