Appearance
A thick brush of curly auburn hair tends to get in the way of his oftentimes worried mottled green and brown eyes. An oddly misplaced square chin and high set cheekbones speaks of clashing origins, a bloodline not even he himself is sure about anymore. A new world demands the absolute best of a cobbler turned warrior, hard, determined work and enough food for a company has turned the wiry man thicker with each passing day.
Personality
A strained laugh and a smile that doesn't quite reach the eyes. Seldom able to push the doubts and worries of the world out of mind, but he still tries to keep his spirits up.

An open hand and a reassuring nod. A kind man wanting to help other do the best they can. A cobbler wanting the whole world in shoes of their liking, but always at odds with what is right and what comes naturally.

Gritted teeth and white knuckles. A warrior, resolute and steadfast at best, stubborn and difficult at worst. He worries the world will demand of him what he cannot give, so he prepares to be the best he could ever be.
History
At the turn of that world's millennium the son of a tanner and a cobbler was born, not much was thought of the fourth son of an unassuming family of craftspeople. Yet another apprentice, another mouth to feed and another pair of hands to keep from getting into trouble in the growing religious unrest. Not the sharpest tool in the shed, Are was still taught the same as his brothers. Long hours and back breaking work preparing hides until he was old enough to touch even a single strap or shoe.

Life went along with not much trouble and by his 19:th summer the now fully fledged (albeit still somewhat green) journeyman had found the daughter of a blacksmith and taken her hand in marriage. Uneventfully the next few years passed as the young couple carved out their own little slice of life on the banks of the great lake.

Aros was no longer a place for them, shunned for their beliefs in old gods and driven away by relatives and friends alike. On a longboat on the lake, carrying what little it could and heading for the south shores the couple prayed to whoever might answer, but to no avail. The rough seas tossed and turned the boat until it was swallowed up by the waves and the darkness claimed them both.

No concept of time existed as he drifted through the void. A trick of some mischievous deity or maybe a second chans by a benevolent being, to Are it did not matter, not at the moment he was spat out into existence at least. With only a vague recollection of what had transpired and the passing thereafter he looked upon a foreign world. The man, with only the items on his person to his name rose and looked around. "Is this Hel?" he asked himself.
