Olive hued skin, pale by comparison to her counterparts, is decorated with constellations of freckles along her arms and back. Her hair, dark with hints of blond that shine in the light, often lightens up quite a bit in Longheat due to the sunlight – yet it sits roughly around her shoulders with indications of wavy curls that threaten to emerge. She stands at the high end of her race, reaching just around four foot eight inches, and a pair of translucent wings sprout from her spine. Her eyes are the hue of an emerald, sharp and vibrant in contrast to the rest of her.

Juniper is a quiet woman. She mostly stays to herself, though she does live among the rest of the fae. She’s often found hidden away and by herself most days, adventuring or skipping stones in the Stonesong river. She doesn’t have many hobbies, but she does enjoy hunting and gathering, and making small little trinkets out of wood fallen from trees and other things she can find. She’s rather easy to talk to, but she never opens up – too caught up in the idea that she doesn’t belong with the fae and their rough visions of her because of her families’ history. So she remains, quiet, aloof, and alone unless forced to speak with others.

Many, many years ago, her grandfather fell in love with an outsider. Someone who wasn’t the Fae. He had hardly acted on it, yet wanted to change the rules the Fae had for generations – to show the outsiders his own world, their traditions and ideas. It was not well received, the man became cast out for years until he tried to prove to them that his heart was still with the Fae – that he was still Fae at heart, that he simply didn’t agree with their shut in traditions. But he kept his theories and ideas quiet, this second time of reentering the Fae society – and that was when he met Juniper’s grandmother.

The stigma around her grandfather still remains to this day – it has plagued every descendant from him to be cast out, unable to befriend the others with more core Fae values. And for a time, Juniper hadn’t really minded. She didn’t entirely share the same ideals her grandfather once did, but because of her name she has been unable to prove herself to the rest of the Fae. And year after year, she’s remained an outcast to her people, finding it easier to remain away (despite living with them, she keeps to herself) rather than to try to constantly explain.

Her family has long since passed, and Juniper finds herself alone in the world of the Fae and the land within the barrier.
