Character Information
AppearanceAs for his physical appearance, Tray keeps his brown hair trimmed above his ears and usually kept styled in a pleasing yet easy to maintain manner. The brown hair rests over two deeply intelligent, dark green eyes and a nose that feels like it should be sharper than it is. A genuine smile can usually be found also gracing his face below his nose, though it can just as easily be a frown. Trey stands taller than most but has nearly no mass or muscle to speak of, can sometimes remind others of a tree in wintertime, skeletal and not a whole lot of physical substance. Tends toward tighter fitting clothing to accentuate his thinness and to keep snags, rips or tears in the field down to a minimum. LIKES: Warm beverages (hot spiced wine is an all time favorite), fires, books, parties, learning, fancy clothes with unique textures or colors. DISLIKES: Physical labor or responsibilities, confrontations, tense situations, cold PersonalityHonesty, a person of character, intelligence and honor are all characteristics that Tray strives for in life though, just as anyone else, can slip into bad choices and habits just as easily given the right set of circumstances or situations. Tries to avoid a physical confrontation as much as possible stemming from a lifetime of experience acquiring bruises and black eyes. Prefers to outsmart opponents if he can though this can lead to even greater disasters in some cases as Tray gets overexcited and jumps the gun in revealing his plans, or just how little he's planned in most cases, anxious at showing brains are better than brawn. Can be lazy or useless when it comes to physical labor and can be manipulative in getting people to do things for him in the "pursuit of greater and more important things of the mind". Hires underlings at every chance he gets to haul things for him and do any heavy lifting while he sits nearby in comfort studying charts, maps or keeping current on worldly events or jotting down theories and conjectures. All this he doesn't do intentionally as he sees what he's doing is genuinely more important than what he gets other people to do for him and simply believes it a better use of his talents and time. Even though he considers himself a gentleman he's still a scholar at heart and, in his opinion, the ends absolutely justify the means. If he would save millions of lives that would be more gentlemanly to him even if it took the sacrifice of thousands to achieve those ends. Has little patience for personal failures and frustrates or angers very easily if things don't work out the way he planned or anticipated them to. Flamboyant, loud (of personality) and charming to a fault Tray enjoys the social game and can easily be found in either a silent, dusty library or at the heart of a loud, boisterous party. HistoryAs they aged, as happens with siblings, a few of the brothers began going their separate ways; Pranav, Bast and Hinz began spending more and more time with the mercenaries and bodyguards that Hacqitt hired to protect his trade caravans planning on protecting their father's investments themselves one day. Devin and Milto spent the majority of their time with their father and learning the ins and outs of running a trade business, both of them eagerly looking forward to the day that they could take over the family business. Which left Whit and Tray to do pretty much as they wanted and they both usually ended up in a bookstore somewhere or haunting the library for maps or visiting with foreign travelers. All the time away eventually began to drive a wedge between Whit, Trey and the rest of the family and wore on Hacqitt's patience and desire for his family business to be attended to by all his sons. One, final tragedy would strike and it would be too much for Hacqitt to handle. Time wore on, Pranav, Bast and Hinz eventually achieved their dream of becoming warriors and protected many of the caravans coming to and from Halo but always focused their time on their father's trade routes. Devin and Milto both were well on their way to taking over the trade business of their father's, Whit and Tray met others who were interested in books and began to attend parties held by their friend's families much to the disappointment of Hacqitt. Tray was 17 when he learned that Pranav, Bast and Hinz had died in an Ursur attack, in sacrificing their lives though they had managed to save most of the caravan they were protecting. The deaths of his sons finally broke Hacqitt who relinquished all rights and control of his business to Devin and Milto. Hacqitt wouldn't survive his next Deepfrost. A few days later a morose Whit and Tray were inhabiting their places at a favorite book store of theirs when Tray, deep in thought and completely distracted, pulled a book from a shelf 5 ft. away and gently floated it toward him and an astonished Whit. Tray learned that he as Abandoned and made it his goal to research everything he could about his own magic as well as the magic of others that he heard about who inhabited Caido. Being Abandoned effectively cut him off from dealing with Devin and Milto, who were superstitious, but Whit stayed in contact with his brother and cited to Devin and Milto the wealth of trading information Tray could provide once he managed to travel the world.
