Appearance
Bright, cropped short red hair with a little ginger scruff around his cheeks and chin. Piercing light blue eyes and prominent brows usually set in a brooding, far-away expression. Rather tall, he has well-defined but not bulky muscle spread out enough on his frame to keep him rather nimble.
Personality
Caden is a goal-oriented man. He doesn't know how to stop moving forward, even when he wants to. Unable to keep his nose out of things if he senses any amount of injustice, it has led to more than a fair share of fights. Caden believes in protecting those weaker than himself, and though his belief in himself is still growing, he has a 'better me than them' mentality.
While prone to brooding and retreating into himself, he does not often reflect inward to the wounds that need to be dealt with; instead prolonging their healing by refusing to focus on those memories and losses. As such he deflects most personal questions, and comes off mysterious and reserved unintentionally.
History
Caden's parents died when he was young, and he was taken in his by uncle by the age of nine. His uncle was a very talented magic-user, but as Naturals it was impressed on Caden at a young age the importance of hiding their abilities and race. His uncle would keep them afloat monetarily in the wilds by providing magical weapons and enchantments only when their stores would run utterly low to keep not only himself but his nephew's status secret. Just before the war, Caden's uncle was killed by a group of anti-Abandoned thugs who had caught onto his dealings, which had increased in light of the coming war.
Finding himself utterly alone and traumatized by his uncle's death Caden went into hiding during the war, afraid of being conscripted or - worse - lumped among the Ascended and killed. With the war over he reemerges, hearing whispers of Abandoned sentiment improving and trying to feel his way out in the world with only his uncle's views and teachings to guide him.
