Hotaru, he imagines, got the full and beautiful treatment of becoming more. “Well, I’ll hope it doesn’t diminish my performance.” He teases her, sticking his tongue out briefly before she starts to physically glow and the surprise is enough that the scars on his face and neck flicker like a lightning strike of bright white in the face of her golden glow.
