Vesper doesn't need to dampen down his surprise—not with his shields up—but it does take him a moment to realize that his jaw has nearly dropped in reaction to the way Jack gently rains his water magic down upon Nova. It's the sort of thing you'd expect from a father, but of course father wasn't a word that anyone could properly apply to Jack, so while the demigod appreciated the fact the captain hadn't just blasted the jaguar with an unrelenting stream, he was a little stitious a touch skeptical.
Pulling the toothpick out from between his lips and gesturing toward the Stargate with it, Vesper grins at his sister and shrugs. "Mundane ain't our problem." Lifting his eyebrows, he nods his head over one shoulder.
"You wanna come back and cover it in glitter that's fine with me, but as far as our actual task goes, I'm sayin' we're done." Glancing toward Jack, Vesper nods his appreciation before returning his sea blue stare to Nova with a smirk. "Come on. I'll buy you one of those weird pineapple wrap things for lunch."
