And although she knew it was a pipe dream, for a moment, she allowed herself to dream of a life free of the hustle and bustle that they lived in now, away from the burden of the Family and the Void and all the other dangers of Caido, besides. And what she imagined was simple, blissful perfection - unattainable, in the end, but a sweet daydream nonetheless.
Caught up in her reverie, she listened with half an ear as Tal rattled off a list of supplies. Then she grinned. ”Brunch waffles?” she asked, peering up at her partner. ”Say no more.” But she supposed they would need more than brunch to live off of, so she considered for a moment. ”Some chocolate,” she decided. What was LongNight, after all, without hot cocoa? ”And some dinner things that’ll be easy to fix. I’d much rather be in bed than in the kitchen.” Realizing how that sounded, she flushed, but said nothing about the accidental innuendo.
