we shall heal our wounds, collect our dead
"Driftwood duty," Ronin clarifies with an animated raise of his eyebrows in response, "I should've guessed. Not sure about that last one, but I'll also take Debris Drafting." His nose scrunches of its own accord even as Kaisel's expression twists into something very similar. Dropping the log with its brother in the dry foliage, Ronin pads back across the sand in time to see Kai hauling the cart around. "Here, I can help," he offers, moving to the back of the cart to push it at the same time as Kaisel pulls.
"Ah, you did? Congratulations on never having to deal with a freezing cold Deepfrost again." He grins. "You'd be right about the rager. Longnight at Torchline is like nothing you'll ever see anywhere else." Once they've gotten the cart down the beach, Ronin helps to tug it to a stop, arranging the driftwood inside so they can fit more into it. He gestures along the stretch of coast behind them.
"You'll see bonfires all along here - only source of light on the beach," Ronin explains. "Some of the more keen ones will spend the whole week out here, stocking up on booze and bringing down blankets and pillows and tents. Make sure to stock up on food as well, though, if you decide to do that. There are people selling stuff, but they can be hard to chase down in the dark."
