His name is a tattoo on his mind, a repeated rhythm, a fervent prayer. She repeats it like a hymn, a heartbeat, wears it on her tongue and mind, rolls it through her thoughts. Vi has come, Vi will help.
Vi has given hope.
Amalia arrives at the Spire at dawn, having decided the best time would be daybreak, when perhaps the blighted would be subdued by the rising of the sun. In otter form (the better to dig) she settles on the ground, waiting for the friends she has requested to gather, a rose plant nestled carefully before her. Vi has given them a solution, and Amalia will do everything in her power to see that it is done, enlist all who may be able to help save their friends and their goddess.
