But he’d drifted off alone, by himself, through the dark tunnels as he tries to avoid the strange black cathedral he and Melita had stumbled across. He manages to find a place with a bit more humidity streaming in, clinging to his clothes and skin, a dewy sheen on his face that dampens the red hair and clings it to his face too. He realizes more and more just how much he dislikes the Climb.
But he’s here, for a reason Zeph had told him about, and without anything particular keeping him in Torchline for this next bout of time, he could afford to venture off in the name of helping if only to remind himself just how much he loved Torchline in its entirety.
He finds the tunnel that leads toward Frey’s breath, unable to truly see beyond the dark tunnels. He has a torch with him, something at least to light the walls nearby him, and he begins his search for the lilies — wondering if it were simply a fool's errand or if the smuggler might find some luck within it.
