Once it would have been Remi's undoing to see a part of him so casually smoothed over the Spyglass's skin. Now, it merely leaves him feeling hollow and lonely, despite the fact that his blue-eyed reflection is still just a breath away.
"Okay." But Remi isn't sure he believes him; already he misses Finn, and there's something prophetic about it that he can't quite name. The floorboards vibrate with the warbling strains of Finn's melody, and before the alchemist quite realizes it, the world has swapped again and the Spyglass is now the Lullaby. "Your song is better than mine." Remi says with something like pride colouring his voice.
Whether or not Finn hears him, though, is unclear; the wood blurs into streams of orange and pink that swaddle the two men. The fire burns itself out leaving pristine bones and unburnt wood, ready for the next pyre.
