Lily Lily would swear to one of the Gods that she heard it. That beautiful tinkling, the sound of wind chimes and ivory and strings. It made her stop dead in her tracks and spin around, looking like a crazed woman in the middle of the street. And then it disappeared, as quickly as it came, leaving the entertainer to wonder if she’d dreamt it, or simply wished so hard for one that she was able to conjure up ghost music to drive herself crazy. And, ok, so it’s a little weird, but every now and then, when the streets are empty, she takes the opportunity to peep into windows, trying to see if there’s a rogue piano somewhere. You know, casually hiding under some sheet in an abandoned house, or adorning a lovely sitting room. It would be easy to mistake the redhead for doing something else, however, if one were to come along at the wrong time. Even with that knowledge in her head, Lily can’t help but continue her fruitless search for the piano - one house at a time. women are like tricks by sleight of hand which, to admire, we should not understand

Kalt propped open the grand piano he had created for Ashe and leaned over the side to look at the strings within the beautiful - if he did say so himself - instrument.

His perfect pitch allowed him to catch even the slightest off tune note, so naturally, he had to be at least a little bit completely obsessive over making sure it’s always flawless. He rested his elbow on the side of the piano and played a C chord, a small grin spreading over his lips.

The man continued with the entirety of the C scale, followed by each and every scale he could think of off the top of his head. Each time, he found a slight imperfection, which was immediately fixed, creating the beautiful sound.

Lily As if by divine intervention, a chord wafts towards her, drawing Lily away from the house she’s currently peeking in to, and down another street. Luckily it’s not a one-time thing, and the irregularly timed, but generally constant sound of scales leads her towards an area she’d yet to visit. Her heart begins to pound with excitement, daring to allow herself to hope that, well - something may come of this and that it isn’t a wild goose chase. She locates and determines the exact house where the music is coming from; rather than peeking in the window to spy on its inhabitants, she goes around to the front door and raps loudly on it a couple of times. Insistently. As if her hands could convey her need through the door and to Kalt that there is someone outside who absolutely must talk with them. Lily assumes friendliness, the best in the whomever is playing and tuning the piano, letting herself get ahead of reality and dive into fantasies where somehow, she’s already got her hands on those ivory keys. women are like tricks by sleight of hand which, to admire, we should not understand
