All her efforts were futile as moments came and went, and she still found hersel back at square one without a clue about her transformed animal form. Jyon could see that Jigano was apologetic in tone, and helpless when it came to teaching or helping her in this regard as he mentioned that he had never had to learn to transform before, having the ability come to him easily as he had before he even stepped into the world of Caido. It was at this point that she decided to stop trying. There was just simply no point to continue trying right now.

For all she knew, she could have been doing it the wrong way or even perhaps making things worst.  The mention of a town with a tavern nearby perked her up. There was possibility there of meeting new people, and hopefully someone there would have some clue of helping her shift into her animal state. There were no certainties of anything, but it simply better than wading in the dark just as she was doing right now, with no knowledge of what she was doing. "A town? What is it called? How big is it? Are the people there friendly?"

She was definitely an Attuned, that much he was sure of, but perhaps it would take something special to unlock her ability to shift. An emotional situation, or a dangerous one, or simple a moment of need when her body would react without conscious thought, slipping from one form to another. There was no urgency at the moment, and given what Caido could throw at people, he took the peace of the day as a blessing not to be wasted. A distraction seemed in order, and he was pleased to see her perk up at the mention of town and tavern, a whicker of encouragement and amusement falling from his equine lips.

It is simply the Settlement, for it is the only one in these barrierlands. The only other town is hidden deep in the Greatwood, and belongs solely to the Fae - and they do not appreciate visitors. But the Settlement is mostly humans. Some are friendly, some are not, and most are simply trying to get by with their lives. It is surrounded by ruins, and you can see where it once was a much larger city... but that was centuries ago. A cataclysm damaged most of the buildings, and people have repaired and rebuilt only what they need to get by. There is a Temple there, with an Infirmary for healers to tend to patients and the tavern, the Rathskeller, in the basement. There is the Atheneum, recently repaired, which houses a great collection of books from this world and many others. There is a market, with tradesmen selling wares and food and drink. He paused, his tone growing more solemn. This is a place that has known great hardship for many years, but the people have long made the best of what they have. There will be those there who will help you, but some may try to take advantage of you as well. Did you have any great cities on your world?
