DEIMOS
Heave the silver hollow sliver
Memories of the open forum were interesting – the spirals of Rexanna’s insinuation into the sovereignty’s seats, poised to orchestrate devious means and measures, Zariah meandering along questions and inquiries lofted by her subjects, the promise of rebellion in the air from the moment she mustered promises and took them away in the same breath. “Zariah held one in the Temple. She wanted to hear from the inhabitants, but failed to listen or change much of anything.” A show, pretenses and stages, their lines falling on deaf ears. A shrug then and there too – because it didn’t matter after, when sedition and revolution had spread. Afterwards, they had their own ridiculous contortions to unravel and unfurl. He shook his head, pondering if it was likely the same thing would continue in Halo, if it would fissure and crack under her machinations and tendencies, if something would buckle or burst, if people would rise against the tyranny, or fall apart beneath its scruples.

Wessex’s reign had been far more peaceful at the beginning; no one had born the weight of a thousand leagues and fathoms upon their shoulders. It only seemed to unravel on the edges of the blight, on the residual effects of pestilence, and then drifted in distorted seams now, portals opened and Fae relations dissolved, prices and penance emerging. “Wessex is capable of attending to us. But after recent events, who is to say what will occur.” What was to come though was difficult to predict, especially after the stories he’d heard from both Loren and Jigano alike, after Amalia’s wrath, after, after, after everything else threatening to spiral and flicker. His brows furrowed, eyes glancing at the stones littering the street, the cat curling its way along his neck, tail bending around his nape. The piercing opus only lifted once more to rivet on the summoner in conviction. “We will be ready.” For turnovers. For rebuttals. For unleashing. For repose. For something. The misgivings and apprehension settled within his core though, because he’d experienced far too many meetings where vehemence, abhorrence, and naught in between existed, simmering on the fringes, yearning, waiting to explode.

Love mends even the broken parts
Letting out a huff of laughter, Loren shook his head. ”That sounds like Zariah.” He shot Deimos a sly smile. ”She never listened to anyone unless she absolutely had to.” However, the summoner’s tone was more than a little sad. It transitioned into a tight-lipped anger, though his voice was even. ”I don’t know. But I also don’t know if anyone other than the Ascended will support her reign.”

Then the Launceleyn’s eyes grew troubled and he gave the General a concerned look. ”What will you do if she refuses to relinquish her position?” Loren crossed his arms and regarded the other man steadily, eyes searching Deimos' features once more for some sign of where the General stood. "Amalia says you have no interest in ruling. Is that correct?"

DEIMOS
Heave the silver hollow sliver
Deimos didn’t laugh or smile in the echoes of Loren’s own. Zariah had terrorized too many of his friends, family, and loved ones to warrant any semblance of amusement. She’d been a tyrant, gnashing her teeth and claws into whatever granules she could scrape up, orchestrating oppression with every single bloodied command. The fact she’d always been like that in some way, shape, or form didn’t lend much credence to her existence except more ire; naught she intended to overcome, wielding her dictator emblems and banners for as long as she pleased. It created unrest beneath its hinges, a seething, toiling mass under its fringes. The same thing would likely happen to Halo, with her regards and schemes.

He gave naught to the insinuation of the Ascended’s reign coming to a close, or anyone else’s support. While the cat on his shoulder batted at his hair, his arms folded, an expression of distaste as the topic spiraled. Used to calculating, deciphering the odds, meticulously planning for motions, for maneuvers, that anyone and everyone could embody, the perilous uncertainty here irked and nettled. “Then perhaps we demand it.” Or they wouldn’t have to; but a mob’s mentality was easily moved and swayed.

The final inquiry left him with a furrowed brow, tilting his head, wondering why on earth Loren and Amalia had been discussing him ruling over anything. At least the Shield knew where he stood. He’d crossed those bridges. He’d held those crowns and scepters and bore down walls, rendered himself an absolute fortification. He’d dragged himself through politics and diplomacies. He’d strived and struggled and persecuted. There were some things he’d do all over again; but monarchy wasn’t one of them. “I am suitable in my current position.” General. Militia. Warfare. Arms and munitions, ready and eager for the slaughter, for the havoc, for the mayhem. Not the trap of reigning.

Love mends even the broken parts
For a long moment, Loren was silent, staring at the ground. When he finally lifted his eyes, they were troubled and his voice was uncertain. ”I’ve been told that responding to violence with violence is never the solution, especially for me, by someone I would normally trust.” Then his tone and his gaze hardened. "But sometimes there's no other choice." Though there was a hint of sorrow in his words, mostly he was resigned.

The corner of the summoner's lips quirked up. "So that's a no, then?" Letting out a huff of laughter, the Launceleyn crossed his arms. "Good to hear it from you personally, though." Sighing, he ran his hand through his hair. "I've told you what I wanted to, so I should let you get back to your day. Goodbye, Deimos" Gathering up his items, Loren nodded at the General, before the summoner went back to the marketplace.

DEIMOS
Heave the silver hollow sliver
Deimos hadn’t mentioned violence in regards to the upcoming meeting; whether or not Loren read too far into implications, or simply assumed, was up in the air, amongst the rest of the shambles and ominous, foreboding measures. Demands wasn’t necessarily built upon vehemence, but public outcry, rabbles, or other ruses, duplicities. While he’d often thrived on the pinnacles of force and vehemence, and in regards to Zariah, ultimately thought it would come down to which individuals finally snapped and mauled, it might not have to be a possibility with the aforementioned gathering. There were always other ways, other modes, other motives. Perhaps Loren was correct the exploits and endeavors of vitriol and vengeance; Helovia could’ve been the spiraling definition of what occurred amongst the pillars of revenge, renewal, and resurgence of animosity and hostility. “It will remain to be seen,” was all the beast could ensue or surmise for the moment, reserved for machinations and calculations when everything occurred. They could speculate until the world was on fire, and it still might not have made a difference.

The summoner either seemed pleased or satisfied with the notion of Deimos not being interested in reigning – the Sword shrugged, neither irked or irritated by whatever settled in those roots. He’d never been suitable for the role, made very clear by his lengthy reign across the Basin. “Thank you for the information,” he nodded, a see you there almost added, but then deemed unnecessary, as they both hastened back to non-political matters.
