Amalia
There is a part of Amalia that aches for the thing beneath the ice, yearning to press further, to learn more about it. Her paws on the ice, her face to the ground, she calls out on more time: Who are you...?

Kiada and Deimos pulled her back, and even Jyoti knows there is no more go be learned today. Goodbye, ancient one. With last pulse of curiosity the leopardess finally nods, taking wing and following her family back into the sky.

Ama leaves the ice to follow Deimos and Kiada
she was so delicate
yet bursting with energy
kind of like a shattered star

DEIMOS
Massive, an overwhelming shadow below the surface, the vestiges of glass; almost difficult to fathom what sort of creature would grow and expand to something so monumental. Like the monoliths surrounding the land, but maneuvering through the water, far more primordial, ancient, and primeval than they’ll ever be. But they could go no further, didn’t have the ability to dive within the fathoms and depths and live beyond a few minutes to tell the tale – not made for the arctic, despite the Siberian channels and funnels in his memories, in his gaze, in his soul. They wouldn’t receive any more, not today, but the potential lurking there, willing to at least listen, even if it couldn’t impart, was enough of a curious, inquiring thing to bring them back again. Thank you for trying he extended to Amalia, because he and Kiada had been ineffectual at best, incapable of uttering anything other than their feral interest and inquisitions. Something to savor, something to ponder, something to wonder, when everything else ceased to crumble, when the earth granted them more than just agonizing questions. He took further to the sky then, hesitant to leave those ethers and possibilities behind, yearning to explore every inch of the platitude – with promises and convictions layered and lacquered for later.
