DEIMOS
With the end of LongNight and its brutal, barbaric entanglements, came the restful vibes of Flowerbirth; renewal, repose, a sanctum, a sanctuary, a sensation of revival after disaster, mayhem, and desecration. Perhaps a celebration that they’d successfully lived through another oblivion, a coming of more seasons, more changes, or maybe just a semblance that they’d recover, assimilate, and gather again. While last year’s had been a relative unknown to him, ignorance asunder in its entirety, an agonizing constant, at least they had time to arrange for this upcoming Fiat Lux (a celebration near and dear to his heart; not that he’d ever admit to anyone).

Picking out a flattened spot to lay out their wares, the Sword and Shield’s pile of goods had gone towards achieving any number of things orchestrated and necessary; his memories from yesteryear instigating the primed, waiting accoutrements. He already had a pile of concocted lumber for stalls and kiosks, some newly taken from the woods themselves, logs that had fallen in the harsh winter, or those with specific measurements, carved by his enchantments or own two hands. Fabric for banners had been gathered as well, a variety of bright, emboldened colors, and if any had particular eyes for any other hues or blends, he could always create more. They might need a semblance of other things, depending on choices others made, but Deimos was rarely unprepared; a head start on the construction and happenstances. He’d rely on Amalia for anything else necessary, forgotten in his tendency to revert to Outlander inexperience and unawareness.

They’d already posted along the Notice Board – so all there was to do for the current moment, once checking over any other supplies, was wait for others to join. Ready?; a finely-honed snicker and smirk curling through the Attuned bond towards the Shield, while his eyes glanced over the morning’s horizon; hastening for individuals to appear.

--

Hello – welcome to a massive PQ (by the Artisan's Guild) to prepare for the upcoming Fiat Lux Festival! Amalia will be co-hosting this PQ with Deimos, so please wait for her to reply first and then go for it! There won’t be a participant limit, but I would like to move it along within the next couple of days.

Thank you! <3

Amalia
She brings a small supply of items from her shop, auxiliary, excess: paint and embroidery thread, baking supplies and herbs and flavors, flowers and candles and glass and cloth- more, perhaps, than initially planned, but never let her be accused of under-preparing for such an event.

Despite her over preparation, Amalia allows Deimos to take charge, content to aid, to follow direction and lend a hand as needed. Which isn't to say she is apathetic or disinterested: on the contrary she delights in the process, quietly glowing with warm, eager pride as he takes the festival and makes it his own.

Their own- and oh, how much so.

Co-hosting, co-planning- coupling, in short, a truly strange thing. Amalia sits on a table surrounded by her excess of wares, her dark eyes glittering as she glances over at Deimos, a bright smile blooming beneath her rosy cheeks. Always- and the rest of it hangs unsaid, even in the silent bond. Always ready, with you here.

Deimos had posted a need for hands, so of course Jigano was there, surprising no one. It was becoming almost tradition now for one to arrive to offer hands or magic, endurance and skill to whatever public works project the other dreamed up. He had brought a few pots of paint and some lengths of cloth slung over his shoulders, with a few brushes in different sizes tucked behind ears or into his tunic.

Though morning wasn't his preferred time, he still managed to arrive with a smile, one that faltered only slightly when he saw Amalia glowing in the morning sun, her own smile putting that distant orb to shame. He might not know where they stood, but Isuma felt no such hesitation as she leapt from his shoulder to make her cheerful greetings to the leopardess, leaving Jigano to nod to both the hosts, a bit more subdued but still looking forward to the day even as he searched the baker's expression for a sign of whether he was welcome.

"I've brought things to make signs - banners - for the different stalls," he offered the co-hosts, hefting the paints he had mixed from plants he had grown. "Writing and pictures both. Or I can help with the construction of things if you already have that handled," he offered, nodding to Amalia's overflowing supplies. Deimos would know that his carpentry skills weren't exactly up to par, but he could hold a beam steady with the best of them, at least.

KIADA
the harpy
She absolutely wouldn’t miss this – not with the opportunity of possible recruiting while she figures out when to start the rebuild of the Guild, which would hopefully be soon. And so she packs the things she things she’ll need, the things she’d hoarded in the barebones of the new Monster Hunter’s Guild, and booked it with Auni on her heels to get there as soon as she could. She’s dressed in all black furs and leathers, a few feathers springing up along her neck like a scarf to ward away the cold as she approaches the Fields for the preparations.

And she isn’t the first to arrive. Auni, immediately interested in Jigano’s appearance before he makes his way to Amalia and Deimos, pauses to ask for scratches from the bard. And Kiada, meanwhile, offers him a nod of greeting, before she makes her way to dumping the items and things she’d brought. It was an attempt at showing what they had to offer, despite everything having burned in the Guild fire. A new start, for her and a life in Caido. And she wasn’t going to let anything stop her.

Lord, what fools these mortals be!
The redhead comes with empty hands but a full heart, knowing from last year’s Fiat preparations that Amalia is more than prepared for such things. Deimos is a preparer, too, so really, there’s no need for her to bring anything but willing hands. Trudging through the mud towards the group that is already assembling, she spots familiar figures and gives them all a wide grin and a wave. “Hey, y’all.”

She might have said more, but the companions catch her attention - the griffin and the luxere (not that’s she any stranger to the creatures, they’re her redeeming factor and the one thing she’s good for during LongNight) - cause a tiny squeak. Her hands fly to her mouth. They’re so freaking adorable, she just wants to cuddle them and let the others do the work. God, she’d kill for a companion.

Oh - it’s good to see her friends, too.

there's light at the edge of the darkness
Although his steps slowed when he saw the small crowd already there, Loren kept going. Astra, for her part, immediately made a beeline for Auni and Isuma. Although the summoner smiled at the companions, it faded soon enough as he turned his gaze to Amalia. Once again, he wasn’t sure where he stood with the baker, so he physically stood uncertainly towards the back of the group for a long moment before stepping forward. "Hello everyone." His voice came out quietly.

That done, he clasped his hands behind his back and settled in to wait patiently. The Launceleyn hadn't brought anything to the gathering, so he simply watched and listened, ready to go wherever he needed to.

oliver
Ah yes, the festival thing. Fiat Lux was it? Oliver had heard a bit about it, how beautiful it would be and that it's a super happy time of the year. Honestly, he was absolutely ecstatic. He had arrived at such a miserable, dreary part of the year. No life whatsoever and not a hint of happiness. Clearly tired of how disgusting Deepfrost was, Oliver was absolutely ready to push into Flowerbirth, ready for what the festival had to offer.

Now, what else would Oliver be doing other than helping others. He didn't run a guild nor did he have any job to speak of, so he had a lot of free time on his hands. This meant that of course he needed something to do with it, what better to do than help out with the preparations.

It took him a little bit to find the location where preparations were undergoing, but the large crowd of people was enough to tip him off. Most of the people he could place a name to their face, save for one individual. Maybe she was new? He'd figure it out eventually.

Unfortunately, he wasn't exactly sure how to help, let alone what actually happens at the festival, meaning he brought pretty much nothing with him. Standing off to the side, Oliver would wait for instructions from Deimos, feeling a bit too awkward to say hello to anyone.

full moon rising on the waters of my soul
Amun had heard that Fiat Lux was his kind of party, so, while he wasn’t much one for pitching in unless forced to (or doing work in general), he decided it would be a good idea for him to help go make sure the event was actually fun. So he'd bundled himself in a cloak that covered every inch of skin. Then he'd made his way out to where the preparations were underway.

Without stopping, he walked to the front of the crowd and strode right up to Deimos and Amalia. "Hey kitty, hey big guy." He winked at the baker. "I heard you were looking for some help making this shindig something people will talk about for the rest of their lives." His voice practically dripped with wickedness.

DEIMOS
Always curled within and he allowed the briefest grin, a surge of contentment, to billow between them, before their preparations, their notices, were honed in by other inhabitants. The Sword offered the Shield a subtle wink, and then watched them meander across the horizon, some hardly a surprise at all: like Jigano, steady and assisting in all manner of construction, gaze lingering on the other wares provided. They’d be more than adequately prepared, so he indulged in another small smile, a nod to the bard – then Kiada and Auni, scratches for the latter, smirks for the former, glad she could make it, not terribly consumed by her new guild duties.

Lily arrived, ensuing another friendly movement of his head, willing, eager, to help. The crowd assembled thereafter, Loren, Oliver, and Amun, was like a conglomeration of all the other events and building they’d drafted and consigned lately; in a light mood, he almost laughed – he should’ve expected every single of them. Satisfied with the amount they’d received, ready and fervent to construct the festival assignations, he suddenly felt overwhelmed by the notion of so many amenable participants. The General would never admit how much it appeased, indulged, or assuaged him. “Thank you all for coming,” he began, the smile still there, comforted, at ease at least with all of those gathered before them. “The first thing we would like to do is set up the perimeter and the stalls. If you are interested in constructing the kiosks, follow Amalia. If you wish to assist in setting up the boundaries, come with me.”

He motioned and maneuvered off to the side, where those who wanted to assist in fringes and edges, mostly so participants didn’t wander over to Loren’s recently planted fields and ruin the entire system, could gather. His hands went for a collection of rope and stakes. “I need someone to stake this end down,” and he wandered over to where the first designated boundary would be, holding onto the threads until someone volunteered. “While I fly and lay out the edges, and then others to stake it as I go along.” Markers, indicators, where people could stay, not stray, and then for them to follow along the pathway, continuing as he sailed and glided. Simple, but necessary to start them all off.

Deimos shifted then, tawny and sienna down hastened, stretched, before grabbing hold of the other end of the rope, and gliding along the air.

--

Deimos is working on the perimeter, Amalia is working on the kiosks!

We’d like 3 people for each! Wait for Amalia to post if you’re interested in the stall making!

Don’t worry about being stuck in a certain group either. We’ll make sure everyone gets a chance to mingle and move around. <3

Jigano's uncertainty fell away as Auni came to say hello, and he gladly offered the luxere scratches, kneeling down to give the little deer a proper greeting as he smiled up at Kiada. Isuma curled around Amalia's shoulders, then leapt down to her friend's antlers, reep!ing joyfully as she renewed her acquaintance with her compatriot in fuzzy mischief. Lily arrived as Jigano was rising, and his smile widened as he swept her an elegant bow, coming up to spot Loren and Oliver joining the party as well. The newest Loreseeker was given a pulse of greeting through the Attuned bond, and Oliver received a friendly wave as well. Amun's appearance was entirely unexpected given the time of day, but he gave the Ascended a cautious nod as he turned to listen to Deimos's instructions.

Carpentry was never his strong suit, so he left his painting supplies beside Amalia's and went to follow Deimos, grabbing a collection of stakes and following the eagle with a thoughtful nod to the plans and plotting ahead. "I can plant the stakes further along," he said, both aloud and through the Attuned bond so their host could hear him, as well as those who were joining him in the stake business. "Just give a shout when this end is in place!" He grinned at his fellow helpers, then jogged a ways down the line after the feathered Attuned ahead. He might not be able to pull the water out of the earth to dry it like Loren could, but he could move the earth itself, loosening it where he drove a stake down and then pulling it tight around the wooden rod to hold it firmly in place, continuing along the line Deimos was laying until he ran out of stakes and had to tag back to another of the General's helpers.

there's light at the edge of the darkness
After hearing the instructions (and giving the bard a grin and a nod in response to the feeling through their link), Loren broke off from the main part of the group, making his way to the perimeter, following in the footsteps of Deimos and Jigano. Once there, the summoner shifted, since he hadn’t quite mastered the art of using the bond while unshifted. His paws were dexterous enough in this form for the task and hand.

Still, he grabbed one of the stakes in his jaws and began trotting along the line that the General was marking. Tell me where. Although the Launceleyn tried to project just to Deimos, Loren was fully aware it was entirely possible he'd broadcast it to every Attuned present. Thankfully, it wasn't anything he didn't want others to hear or experience.

Amalia
Those who assemble are welcome; some surprising, some less so, each one met with a smile or a word of greetings. Yet no matter how her attention is diverted a little remains upon the Sword, the Attuned bond in pulses of affection, pride and anxiety, quietly enthused. They have divided the tasks between themselves, and it is good to know that there will be adequate support in this, their newest ambitious endeavor.

Amalia listens as Deimos explains, still perched upon a table, dark eyes glittering and face aglow. It isn't until the group begins to split that the girl eases off her seat, waiting for those who have chosen to build kiosks to assemble around, her expression bright.

"Hey guys. So luckily there's already a bunch of built up kiosks from years past." Gesturing around the field she indicates some of the already assembled stalls. They are simply built, not much more than tables with elevated walls and timber in the front, with remnants of decorations upon them all. Most are still in a good state of repair, but some have clearly taken damage from weather and time. "We need to fix up some of them, and move and clean the others. There's plenty of timber for repairs, and some cleaning supplies." She indicates each with a sweep of her arm.

Fidgeting slightly, Amalia turns back to look over the kiosks, chewing thoughtfully on her lip. "Maybe two of us can clean and move, and two can repair? We want them all in a nice semi-circle around the perimeter Deimos' team is making."

Amalia needs help repairing, moving, and cleaning kiosks! There are three broken kiosks, 10 that need to be cleaned up and moved, and about 20 already in place! Choose your task and hop to it, Ama will fill whatever is left.

KIADA

The tasks are given, and Jigano and Loren offer their help for Deimos, which is fine. It’s been awhile since Kiada had spent a fair amount of time with just Amalia, and she happily goes and follows the Shield with Auni in tow. She waits easily as Amalia explains that they need to fix some of them, move some of them, and clean them.

She steps forward toward the kiosks that need to be moved. “I can move them.” She chimes to the rest of the group, flashing a bright smile to Amalia as her and Auni move toward the kiosks. She waits for help should it arrive, before she attempts to recreate that semicircle that Amalia had asked for.

Lord, what fools these mortals be!
Lily remains quiet throughout the thanks given and tasks delivered, knowing immediately where she’s best suited, and it’s not at the perimeter. Following Amalia to the kiosks, she finds she definitely remembers some of them from last year and wonders where they’ve been kept since then. Is there some underground storage facility she doesn’t know about? On second thought, yeah, there probably is.

“I can clean,” she volunteers, raising a hand and then going to grab some rags, buckets of water, and a broom, starting with sweeping out the accumulated dust and dirt before wiping the walls down. And then sluicing out the floors with buckets of water and the broom. It’s wet, dirty work, but Lily doesn’t seem to mind the group effort.
