Nothing ever comes without a consequence or cost

The closer he leans into Weaver, and the closer she also leans, the broader his crooked smile becomes. "Yeah, well, I've heard." He winked at her, ever so slight and quick, and leaned back again. He turned his body ion his stool to face her broad on, rather than sit beside her. He leaned on an elbow against the bar, and motioned to the tender for another drink. The bartender handed it to him without argument, and without sticking his own hand out, all in favor of the several hares Ezekiel had brought in last week.

"Okay, there it is then. I won't need your storehouse if I am too drunk off my ass to remember I need to eat." He drinks from his new mug. "But only if you run the place." He takes another big gulp of the new mug of ale, leaving less than a third of the foamy, piss-poor drink in the bottom. Standing, Noah straightened his clothes and cocked his head over toward the door which led to the all-too-bright outside. "But today is not my day for drunkenness."

As he leans back and turns to face her, she does the same, crossing her legs and leaning on her elbow against the bar to hold herself up. He gets another drink, though she still hasn’t finished the first and honestly, there may be a limit to how much piss she can drink now that she’s tasted what’s actually out there. That is the problem with tasting. One sip of a good alcohol, one taste of adventure and possibility, is never enough. You always need more.

She chuckles at his comment. ”Then I will be certain to make sure you are always drunk off your ass,” she says, still playfully. They both know how to have fun (it makes life more bearable), but they are Halovians and hunters at that. Responsibilities always come first. ”I will definitely run the place.” Though that almost goes without saying.

As he stands, she drains the little bit left in her glass and stands to join him. ”No, it is far too early today for being drunk. Even if it is a waste of a day.” Still, she follows his lead.

Noah smirked and lifted his hood up in an attempt to block some of the light from blinding him. He pushed the door open with a shoulder and walked out into the bright, white light of Halo. "Not a day for drunkenness, but does it have to be a total waste?" He asked, hand digging deep into a pocket to pull out a sling shot and a leather bag of stones. His smirk transformed into a bigger smile. He had had this slingshot since he was a child, as is usual for children in Halo. Despite that, it was still useful.

The birds reveled in this sunlight. They were able to drink in more warmth. They became so happy and fluffy and lazy. Easy targets. Noah gestured with his head towards a group of sunbathing Ningo. He held out the slingshot to Weaver, and dug three stones from the pouch. "Big bad huntress isn't too lofty to go back to this tool, right?" he laughed, winking.

They head outside, and Weaver shields her eyes against the bright sun, giving herself a moment to get used to it again. Though it all sucked, this was the worst part, trying to adjust from the dim inside of most places in Halo to the white-washed world. With her hand still covering her eyes, she watches Noah pull a slingshot from his pocket and a collection of stones.

Weaver chuckles at the sight. She’d broken hers so long ago, though honestly, the thing had been rather handy. Maybe she ought to get another one, though she’d rather just throw a knife. Still, today certainly doesn’t need to be a waste. ”Not for a game of Ningo bowling,”, she says, which isn’t exactly a great description of it, but close enough. With her eyes better adjusted, she drops her hand and takes the slingshot, fitting a stone into it and aiming for one of the closer ningos.

Fat, lazy birds. They were great for eating and easy to kill. She lets the stone fly and it hits it’s target, managing to knock the bird out cold with only a slight squawk and some flying feathers. The other ningo’s startle, but not realizing what happened, they settle back down. She hands the slingshot back to Noah with a slightly pleased look on her face. ”Your turn.”

The slingshot had been a useful tool to the hunter, even when it was meant to be a training tool in accuracy and patience for children, as well as a fun toy. He had used it to distract other predators while out tracking and scouting; to uproot roosting birds; to frighten luxere to move the way he wanted them to. Today, no matter how childish it might look to more stiff members of Halo society, he would enjoy the target practice with Weaver.

The younger huntress was successful, which made Noah all the more glad. He took back the slingshot from the woman, Noah loaded and lifted it up. He steadied his arm, breathed out, and let the stone fly. It knocked a ningo straight off their chosen perch, concussing it like the bird Weaver had hit. Nodding, with a silly-yet-triumphant hmph, Noah handed the slingshot back to Weaver quickly.

This second strike sent the other sunbathing ningo into panic. The fat, white birds shrieked and fluttered away. Quickly, Noah trotted toward the two birds they had already managed to knock out. He grabbed one bird in each hand, and proceeded to break their necks with swift, practiced motion. "Well, it was fun while it lasted." He shrugged, closing the distance between him and Weaver again. He held out one of the plump birds in exchange for his slingshot again. "Maybe we could do that again, soon. But, I've gotta go check on Ezekiel's progress. See you later, Weaver." He held up his bird in a slight wave to her, before turning and heading back towards his house.
