From being an Abandoned who had rarely left the Hollowed Grounds, to embracing the call of adventure, to dying and being reborn first as an Ascended and then as an Ancient, Maea has gone through quite the amount of changes in her life. One thing remains common, though, in her attempts to find out just where she belongs; she’s always had a craving for knowledge which has brought her to so many places and to meet so many people here in Caido. We can’t wait to see what else is in store for her!
Congratulations, Maea!

She meets up with Wessex, and soon enough Samuel is there as well – and Rexanna gives him a bright smile despite the slightly defeated look he seems to have. It doesn’t matter in the end, they’ve gotten enough, and she lets the two of them talk it out to see how to transport and electrify, to learn what Samuel had done with it to get his fingers fixed. Her verdant gaze slips over to the red haired man as he pulls out a blanket just for this exact thing.
“I can make some straps to better hold it together so we don’t lose any pieces as well?” She asks thoughtfully, palms and hands at the ready to craft some sort of twine, something to tie around the pieces to hold them together, giving Wessex a knowing look that if she were to use her magic that the Wraith would be able to make more to help too.

“Good. The lightning magic isn’t terribly strong anyway.” With an eye on the blanket Sam pulled out and the pieces of metal, she makes a sound in the back of her throat. “Probably best to keep them on the blanket from the start. Don’t want anyone getting a shock from accidentally touching them. Then we can roll it and make straps to carry, yeah?” Giving the two of them a look to see if they’re all in agreement, and if they are, Wessex gets to it.
Once Sam puts the blanket down on the ground, she moves the metal onto it and tidies it into a pile as best she can. With a step back to give herself just a tiny bit of a room, Wessex holds out her hands and calls on Hotaru’s power, willing lightning from her hands to the metal. It comes, unsteady and weak, but enough to charge the metal with something.
Once that’s done, she grabs the edges of the blanket and tucks them around the metal, wrapping up as best she can to keep all the sharp and buzzy edges protected. Now it’s Rex’s turn for the straps.

Rexanna nods to that, agreeing all along the way. And once the blanket is set and the metal set upon it, the Penumbra steps back from the Wraith to let her work without getting shocked in the meantime. And she simply just watches, focusing on the task at hand and when she should be ready, palms opening to make a couple bundles of material to use to tie together and make straps around the metal once it’s electrified.
Soon enough it’s done, and when Wessex wraps it up, Rexanna comes in with the straps prepared and tied together, to slip beneath the metal and the blanket, to tie off all ends and get it ready for transport. And when she’s done, she crafts a small little clasp to keep it all together, twisting and tying it together enough to form a handle as well. Just to make it all the easier.
Glad his idea was being used, Sam laid down the blanket and watched Wessex and Rexanna wrap the metal; perhaps he had not been much use, but at least he could say he helped, he supposed. He was beginning to get a little tired of his accomplishments being easiest summarised as 'a good effort was made', but with such competent people among the Ascended as Rexanna and Wessex, it wasn't too surprising, he supposed.
With a clasp to hold it all together, the bundle looked rather neat. "You can keep the blanket. I hope this is enough.." Really, he was just talking for the sake of it. Deciding to shut up he stood and waited to see if any further assistance was needed.
Sam’s inability to find something was only due to poor luck - Wessex certainly doesn’t hold it against him. No, there is only the requirement of three on her mind, then finding the metal, then electrifying it, then wrapping it and making straps. There was no room for something like blaming Sam when he did perfectly well to provide a blanket and instruction. When it’s bundled up, Rex comes in with the straps and clasps and Wessex lifts it up to her back, asking the Queen to make sure it’s fastened well enough before the head into Halo. Wouldn’t want all their work to be for naught if the parcel falls off and empties everything into the snow.
“Well done, team,” she offers with a small nod of satisfaction. Onward and upward. Literally.
