DELPHiA
Delphia grinned back at the raggedy, masked god that she felt a sibling like love for. She felt the swell of souls rise just before they burst forth, revealing themselves for all to see. "Very fun, indeed!" she laughed, beaming as living and dead coexisted as only the gods could make apparent. It was a glimpse into her world, seeing all that was around them regardless of their life stage. Perhaps for those gathered, they would better understand how the world looked through her eyes.

But at Ludo's behest, she quickly made her way onboard the ship, delighted in how the day's events turned out.

RONIN
THE FALLEN STAR
"Mm, what a shame." Ronin smiled in agreement, barely even watching the antics of those on shore or in the sea. The ghosts he couldn't miss, however, nor the spooky vessel upon the waves, and unsurprisingly the Dark Star was similarly not keen on getting on board. "I'm sure it will be fine," he said, though it was unlikely he was giving it much thought at all.

Racing Remi back to shore was a much more pleasant idea, besides. Summoning his nimbus to hop on to, he didn't bother waiting for a 'ready steady go', simply racing off across the waves. Consider it a head start, perhaps.

DEIMOS
the resurrected sword
The chaos continued, reigning, his head finally turning back towards the beach, where there seemed to be some sort of gathering, unfurling, and unwinding. His eyes fixtured back to Amalia, ragged and masked, finding her to be altered, changed, back to her old form; the game finalized, exposed. He shook his head and snorted, the amusements left behind for another day, another segment in time, treading water in the waves.

If only that had been the only thing to occur.

But then there was an erupting of things: glowing figures amidst the waves, not tangible, not corporeal, but seemingly figments and illusions, some immersed close to him, his eyes widening, taking in the sailors, the manta, the assortment of others. Ghosts and wraiths, phantoms and specters, but seemingly not cruel, not contemptuous, flickering about in merriment.

Then a boat to follow, rope ladders unleashed, and all the while the Sword simply stared, the uncertainty and apprehension curling around him. He watched as some boarded without preamble, perhaps no consternation to the antics, to the actions surrounding the waves. He maneuvered towards the boat, swimming along the current, hesitation still embedded, immersed in his form, intending to wait for the Shield before deciding to board, or not at all.

to be lit up from within
vein by vein
“Aww,” Melita murmured, fully tricked. The masked marauder turned out to be the real Amalia out on the waves, and the impulsive acts of the honeybee’s motions, movements, hadn’t mattered in the slightest. “Oh well,” she murmured to Fangorn, the poor gourd still petrified in her grasp as they wandered along the waves.

Thereafter though, when everything else was unveiled, left the girl standing stock still. Ghosts and forms of the afterlife coiled and unfurled around them, and for a few moments she thought of the wraith within the Rift; how one had snagged its fingers around her throat, wrapped and choked, pretended to be her mother –

And safety seemed to be with the boat appearing, Ludo amongst the planks.

Her heart only settled as she advanced, following so many others, when she realized the spirits were merry and bright, vivid and real, clear and opulent along the currents and tides. They were happy; not wandering across the fathoms and depths to snag, to devour, to consume. The smallest sigh left her body, left her bones, and she grabbed the ladder towards the boat with one hand while Fangorn remained clutched in the other, a warm smile delivered to Ludo when she arrived on board. “Good game,” a steady croon, a nod of her head.

She’s rather surprised when Ludo notices her, even though it is only to pluck the toy boat from her grasp. Not that she minds, as she brought the toy for him in the first place. Still, it is strange to be noticed by the herald at all, though she recalls what Maea told her, how if Ludo was taking the toys, he was paying attention. Perhaps she had been more right than Weaver realized. ”It has been fun,” she tells the herald. And it has, even if she is terrible at playing games.

Then, suddenly, glowing figures appear. Spirits? They bob through the crowd, and she cannot help but look for Erebor. He will not be here, she knows, but still she searches the faces of the dead until Ludo turns her little toy boat into a ship. Well, okay then. Others clamber on board, though she hesitates, wondering where they are sailing back to. To Mort’s realm? She is not so willing to get on the actual ship, uncertain. Instead she lingers, moving toward the surf, waiting to see if she should actually board.

SUNJATA
the flood
holding back the flood,
in this skyscraper town
Suddenly, the beach and water are alight with souls and ghostly figures, something surprising to the flood. And despite the pain in his side as he swoops over the water toward Ludo!Amalia, he shifts to turn just as he notices Amalia become herself again. And he chooses to head back to shore, a quiet caw of sound granted to Melita once the boat is made and she begins to dock. He doesn’t plan on heading back to the port just yet.

So he swoops back toward the beach, shifting into himself and adjusting his course toward the sands – stepping away while things calm down, a hand on his side to help keep the pain at bay a bit longer.
you gave all that sweat and blood,
now you think you're gonna drown

He might have only been calf-deep in the waves, but Kel still felt terribly out of his depth as the woman whose directions he had been following was revealed as the god, and the god as the woman, and then the sea was filled with light and creatures he had never imagined, merfolk he had never seen before, and more humans than he could count.

The young hunter stumbled back to the shore, shivering and confused by it all and trying not to touch any of the glowing souls. The boat was nearby, waiting and welcoming, but he could only shake his head mutely at the apparent offer as the dead and the living both streamed aboard. Kel was very much lost and distressed, alone and feeling lonelier than ever as so many people who seemed to know each other either celebrated the god's game or took their leave. He didn't understand any of it yet, and he made his way to a dry rock to sit and pull his boots on while he watched the ship warily, wondering if it would return to its original toy-size halfway through the voyage and drop the living into the sea to join the already-dead that filled its holds and decks.

Too far away, Rance doesn’t hear the god’s sigh or what caused it, but he’s been watching for changes and he certainly sees them. The woman on the shore becomes the dreadful figure and the rag-covered person on the water becomes the woman. Then, all through the crowd, there are suddenly glowing beings, ghosts and giant translucent fish(?), people he assumed were merfolk intermixed with the haunting, ethereal dead. They looked… playful? He would have shivered had he been in human form. Ravens might have been associated with the dead, but his people had very little to do with them in actual practice, beyond the consumption of carrion. He was high enough up as to be ought of reach of them (he hoped), so he continued circling, curiosity still warring with unease.

A ship appeared suddenly, from his perspective, and the celebratory crowds of the dead boarded. Some of the living people boarded as well, which didn’t help Rance’s opinion of the shadowy creature in rags. From his safe distance, though, there was something… strangely beautiful about the entire event. There was no fear, only playful joy or careful distance. He’d have to ask Jigano about the entire thing later.

Once the ship begins moving, Rance will follow, circling if needing, but never landing.

OLIVER
Just like all of the others, once a boat just magically appeared, Oliver started to make his way over it. Before setting foot on it, he watched others board warily and even reached forward to place a hand on the boat. This...was really the first time he had been on a boat since arriving. While he knew he could swim, he had no recollection of how being on a boat felt. What it was even like to do such a thing.

Still, he gathered up the courage to climb aboard, quickly moving to stand over by Loren just for comfort and safety. The man wasn’t the sort to really hug or be all that comforting, but he was wise and could give advice if needed. Besides, Oliver did have a bird shift he could use if things went totally wrong. This would be okay.

Ludo
For those who choose to board or stay on shore or leave of their own accord, Ludo does not care. It waits for those who would climb onto the ship before the vessel sets sail all by itself, softly aglow with laughing spirits and chatting individuals.

Those who did not join it receive no ill will - Ludo is enjoying itself, and the ship bobs merrily away across the sea towards Kaiholo Port. Any at the port who see them coming might receive quite a fright, but there is no malice here tonight. Only memories and celebration, only hide and seek.

Thank you for participating everyone! This Mini Event is now over! <3
