From being an Abandoned who had rarely left the Hollowed Grounds, to embracing the call of adventure, to dying and being reborn first as an Ascended and then as an Ancient, Maea has gone through quite the amount of changes in her life. One thing remains common, though, in her attempts to find out just where she belongs; she’s always had a craving for knowledge which has brought her to so many places and to meet so many people here in Caido. We can’t wait to see what else is in store for her!

Finn nods at her clarification, though honestly he is more interested in watching her blueprints crawl off the page and become three dimensional. The Spyglass shifts off the desk to step closer, curiosity well and truly piqued, and as she informs him that the fun is still to come, and begins to alter the designs mid-air, he lets out a disbelieving chuckle. The sound and the expression on his face strip years away, and he nods his gentle approval.
”That looks perfect,” he informs her after she’s done explaining, glancing over his shoulder to the real wall that the glass might replace. ”How long do you think a project like this might take? I can do research elsewhere, if you need the space,” he says, not wanting to intrude (and also not particularly wanting the awkwardness of small talk should the two of them have to share a space).

If she’s being honest, hearing the brief chuckle for what it was, does surprise the Artificer. But she’s in her zone now, doesn’t let it affect her while she edits and adjusts the blueprints in real time, setting it up in a sense that he might be able to inspect it and approve of it before she started making notes on how to go about them.
A beaming smile is given back toward Finn at his acceptance, one that remains while she figures out how long it would take. “It would go quicker if you had another place to go. I could get my team in here and we could take that wall out and put this one up in… Hmm.” Her head tilts this way and that as she considers it. “Less than a week. Maybe a week if it gives me problems.” A brow raises toward him, wondering if that was doable.
To hear that it would only take a week with problems has Finn’s eyes widening a fraction; the Spyglass is visibly impressed, and he nods to her in easy acceptance. ”If you give me until the end of the afternoon to get the things I need out of here, you can have the office until the work is done. I can either take my research up to my apartments with me, or there is always the Archive.” Or the Collegium outside, though people tend to want to socialise with him there.
Still, needs must, and after being sick for so long he is sure he can cope for one more week. So saying, Finn is already grabbing a box from the side of the desk, starting to pack his papers and books into it. Better sooner rather than later, he supposes. ”Did you really follow me all the way in here just to ask about hot springs?” he wonders.

She has a good team to back her up – one that she’d specifically picked that were good at their jobs, quick and efficient and followed her advice without much argument. It made it easier, made work quick so that she could move onto other projects. But he agrees, a flash of a grin splashing along her face before it tempers a bit. “Take as long as you need. I still have to get the supplies made.” She could have them done by the next day, the framework going in first to give the glass a bit of time to be made. Especially one sided glass.
But already he’s moving to pack up and she grabs her blueprints, carefully folding it up to add back into her pack so she won’t smudge any of the designs. His question reaches her and she pauses briefly, nodding while Levi’s head follows the way Finn grabs the papers and books and packs it into a box. “Well, sort of. October –” She pauses, clearing her throat. “Dr. Hart and I went to the springs to get water back for you. I wanted to be sure it worked and maybe… Well, the springs were so lovely. I thought perhaps we could add a miniature springs into her office just in case you needed it again or someone else did.” Her smile isn’t bashful or awkward, but it is a touch softer when she looks at Finn again.
"Believe me, I don't like to be here longer than I need to. I will be out of your way shortly." Perhaps it's the fact that the Spyglass's office has no windows that turns Finn away from doing all of his research here. More likely, however, is the fact that he can't lock himself into the office once he arrives, and company might sneak in to join him at any moment. He continues packing away the items he'll likely need for the rest of the week, stormy eyes flicking up to catch Levi watching him work for a moment.
Once everything is gathered together and he can stop and listen to the story about the Artificer and Doctor Hart's rendezvous at the hot springs, Finn nods his understanding. "I see," he says. "Well, I am sure she and her other patients will appreciate it, even after this sickness has been cured for good." He daren't say if - he absolutely doesn't want to jinx anything. "Is there anything else you need from me for now?"

There’s a slight snort of agreement to Finn’s initial response of being here. She understands, to an extent, that based on what she knows of the Spyglass that he wouldn’t particularly like to be in a space where he can be interrupted much – left alone to his own devices. She doesn’t get that way with her own office, but she’s also either there and uninterrupted or out installing the jobs she gets. She gets the variety which she imagines Finn lacks with an office such as this.
Regardless, she dips her head to him, keeping a hold on her papers as she shifts toward the door now that she has all the confirmation she needs. “Hopefully it’s cured as soon as possible.” She agrees quietly, lifting her head a small amount when he questions if she needs more. “No, I’ve got everything covered. I’ll fetch you when it’s finished and see what you think.” Perhaps the smile that now graces her features edges toward a bit of arrogance but she’s proud of her work and she imagines she can do it justice, imagines she can bring the vision to life that Finn has in mind.
And with nothing else, she departs Finn's office to head back to her own to send out the commissions she requires for the parts she needs.
