[PQ] (RQ) off the coast

A panther in the night, a fire burning bright. Ray wiped the sweat off of her brow. Moving rocks was tiring, even with so many people working. But it was satisfying to see their progress. They were so close to being finished! Once the first groyne was completed Ray headed over to the second and got to work. Cracking her knuckles, she picked up and carried her first rock before placing it as necessary.  She then continued pushing and rolling as many rocks as she could handle to try and speed up the process. When her hands got tired, she shifted forms and began to shoulder them over as  panther. By the end she was tired and in need of both a good meal and a nap. The shark is gone and Delta visibly relaxes. Jack makes a point of showing off his fancy wrist things and Delta decides she will have to ask him about it later. Maybe he could explain how they work and how she could get something like it. It looked exactly like water magic and yet, apparently, it wasn’t. Fascinating stuff.

”Of course.” And so, she moves to place the final marker before returning back to talk directly with Jack. ”I hope we will be fine... I am scared, but this could also help the humans. So... I don’t know how to feel. I just hope things will work out for both of us. That neither of us will be hurt by it.”

When it comes to completing the second groyne, Sunjata and Ray manage to accomplish about a fourth of it, but perhaps due to the frustration Melita is feeling with the initial section, the fiery woman does quite a lot, her and Saiden managing to finish the second one completely, which luckily leaves room to work on the third and final groyne, the pile of rockery already prepared and ready to be brought into the water once Delta and Jack have placed their last marker.

The last marker is placed with ease, giving room for Jack and Delta to rejoin the group for adding the final rockery for the groynes. And soon enough, they’re all completed, an unsurprising amount of exhaustion encapsulating the team that’s come together. But they’d accomplished the task they’d set out to – only a few more to go until they could speak with Safrin again to complete the barrier.

As it stood now, however, Sunjata shifts back into his human form, even more visibly exhausted as he lingers along the sand, offering tired smiles to those in attendance and to Delta in the waves. “Thank you all. It looks great. Should help keep things somewhat normal without all the winds moving it around.” Mulling it over, he makes his offerings in the form of warm meals and drinks should anyone want to take him up on it.

The rest of it, however, could wait.
