Who knew I'd make her so blue
Silence was... kinda good thing. Kind of.

It was nice having an excuse to ignore really obnoxious people or for leaving suddenly during conversations since she didn't need to say goodbye or give a proper apology... but it was also very lonely. It wasn't fun and it led to her exploring far more. Seeking out new things to do and see, gain new knowledge. A part of her hoped it would lead to the cure, but for now, she was okay with simply dealing with things.

And dealing with things she was.

Swimming up to the Rainbow Road was a real trek. She started it extremely early, making her way up to it. There were things she could see there that weren't often found within the main portion of Torchline: there was a beauty to it and a lot coming from all of the colors.

Surfacing her head, she glanced around briefly before returning back to the water where she'd be seen sifting through rocks. It'd be easy for anyone to see her, scales shimmering in the light against the colorful rocks.

i'm the kind of human wreckage that you love
Rigby also loved silence, so this would work out great.

The boy had spent the days since his return to Haulani surrounded by people, working his trade, hustling and stealing and bartering for goods. Today however he wanted quiet. He wanted to get away and not worry about where he'd eat or sleep, he just wanted to lay in the sand under the Flowerbirth sun.

Rainbow road wasn't the quietest of retreats, but it was a nice place. Rigby walked along the shoreline, watching the colors ripple away beneath his boots. The vibrancy would trickle away as it was separated from the conglomerate, but it was pretty while it lasted, like little prisms that splashed up and shimmered before turning to rain. Finally he settled at a tide pool, sitting on a rock face and leaning back, closing his eyes.

He was oblivious to the mermaid who joined him in the pool below.

It took Delta an embarrassingly long amount of time to notice a human had joined her.

Due to the quiet nature of the boy and her own distraction, she had noticed. It was unwise of her and extremely dangerous, but she continued on with her way. It was only when she found an especially interesting rock that she surfaced.

The mermaid was prepared to look over the rock, give it a good inspection to see what it exactly was. It was when she surfaced that she appeared right next to the boy. Eyes widen and she suddenly lurches backwards, splashing water around but thankfully, not onto the human. Still, it caused quite the ruckus and with no voice, she couldn’t even apologize to him for her mistake. Whoops.

There was a nice period of time in which both Rigby and the mermaid were completely unaware of each other. Nice for the human at least, who wanted nothing more than peace and quiet. It never really did last long, just as he closed his eyes and covered them with the backs of his hands there was a splash right by him. He sat up quick, expression contorted between a cautious surprise and a incredulous scowl.

Dark brown eyes landed on a girl in the water, for the moment that their eyes lock on each other Rigby thinks she's just a human. When she moved he saw that wasn't the case, her tail rippled starlight sparkles beneath the surface. A mermaid, he'd never met one before, but there were plenty of tales growing up. Some not so nice, he scrambled back just out of reach of the pool. You never know when a mermaid might grab you and try to drown you.

He didn't say anything, but he watched her curiously. Did she speak? Would she? He just waited, propped up on his hands.
