DEIMOS

Getting stuck wasn’t a possibility the Sword was content with; but he had his magic, and his own methods – wouldn’t allow them to go hungry, cold, thirsty in case of such a duration. But he nodded just the same, circumventing the efforts, gaze following after conversations with the dog, managing to muffle a snort at the semblances of dragons. In very poor humor, he could’ve extended the notions of fending off such beasts to be more than detrimental, but he strung and stung his way into silence instead.

As for information and any other woolgathering, there wasn’t much else. “No. Just prepare yourself.” And Deimos would strive to do his part. Success here could signify a lot more than just barricading himself into plots and maneuvers during Deepfrost.

The following inquiry gave him pause though – and there was a moment of indulgent bitterness and rancor flickering through his eyes. Not for Sah, but for the notions as a whole. They’d had multitudes of ideas, ranging from defenses, to wards, to assault and siege weapons previously, but with no time to get any of the groundwork started before the following invasion. He thought of the papers he’d handed over to Morgan in his haste to prove himself, to better the mountain world, of all the sketches, scrawls, and details laden within – she already had some of his work there. The rest he’d keep to himself. “We had always discussed the portal,” and hence why there was such a rush to acquire everything before winter set in. “But aerial defense may be a good place to start.” Considering how the Glacier had intended to mar her own people with the same regard.

Sah

Sah simply nodded, taking the words at face value, understanding where the hinted bitterness was actually directed. He couldn't imagine how frustrated Deimos and the others were. To have all of their careful planning succeed only to be overtaken a few days later. Although privately Sah considered some of their choices to be to blame, that was neither here nor there.

Instead the Outlander considered Deimos' words. "The portal certainly is an obstacle that will need to be dealt with sooner rather then later. For now though I'd argue that it could be left as a defensive measure." The inability to use it during Deepfrost went both ways after all. It was somewhat reassuring that the Sword thought his idea was acceptable. After seeing a dragon coming from above, Sah hadn't been able to think of anything else.

Eyeing the sun's location, the Abandoned gave his friend a tired smile. "I best be getting back. I'll see you in a few days. Take care of yourself, alright?" With a wave Sah grabbed his bag and began to head home.
