Cordelia sat back and watched the other hunter work. Her emotions were locked down tight and it was probably for the best. Deimos would likely not appreciate where her mind was and she wasn't so sure that Noah would either. No, it was for the best. The Attuned watched Noah toil away, trying her best to keep her longing glances discreet , but she could feel the flush on her cheeks. Eventually she retreated back to her makeshift cabin, attempting to bed down for the night in her furs, unwilling to freeze in the harsh wind that was already blowing through the camp.

---

The morning came and Cordelia was loathe to get out of the warmth of her nest, but she eventually managed it. Her movements are sluggish and it isn't until there is food in front of her that the Attuned began to fully come into herself. Winter was always harder for her to handle at times. The cold sinking into her bones and keeping her from moving the way she wanted. Still, Cordelia managed, thankful for the hot food to warm her from the inside out. Cordelia shifted her attention to the plans, head cocking to the side before she nodded, humming softly. "Good. Should stay dry enough and keep out the cold."

A long drink of tea later and she's already feeling better. "Where would you like me?"

Cordelia tucks in for the night and wakes up the next morning ready for work. She asks where to start after breakfast!

i will endure the night for the promise of light
With hands that he could barely feel between the cold and the exhaustion, Noah let himself relax as they finished the walls. He stood back and inspected each of the cabins, satisfied so far with their progress. His heart still panged with the want for home, but at least they would survive out here. Departing from his comrades, with Eira back at his side after gathering her moss, the hunter curled himself up to sleep in the reindeer form his body knew so well.

At the break of day, even before the sun rose, Noah was up and about helping Deimos set and gather for their last installment of construction. "These plans looks great." He agreed, in between rather large bites of the breakfast that the warlord had prepared for them. Noah slogged down a cup of mostly hot water, but it heated his bones from the inside and fueled him with enough energy to finish the project. "Let's get started!"

DEIMOS
ache first, but then let the cuts close

With approval met and companions at the ready, the Sword smiled, considering all the other necessities. “Two to build, and one passing supplies, I think.” That way they could work incrementally, rotate, or take turns should either of them falter. Simultaneous outlooks, one shelter after the other, and hopefully it wouldn’t take too long. It’d be a relief to get within the makeshift homes, rather than spend a multitude of their day staring at it from the outside.

He’d leave Noah and Cordelia to decide where they’d like to be, applying his own strength and abilities into helping form the roof. Deimos adjusted the ladders so they leaned on either side, and went along the right, brandishing his Air incantations to lift the tools after him, beginning to coincide with the wooden planks already there. Movements and motions at their disposal, ready, willing, and able to complete the task.

Noah was ready to be in these shelters. He was ready for something that felt safe, warm, and familiar. So he moved on, following Deimos and moving their tools and supplies as necessary. "I think with your magic, and Cordelia's help, we can get all the supplies where we need them, and you and I can secure everything." The hunter freely offered his thoughts, looking to each of his compatriots briefly, waiting for any hesitation or push back from either of them.

If there was none, Noah would move on with the task he chose for himself. Without the aid of ladder, he might have shifted into his lynx form to get to the top of the first shelter. He had done it before, in the Hollowed Grounds, when talking with Wessex. The memory felt like a lie, now. The two had become enemies. Never would they be able to speak on the same level as they had that day. Shaking it from him, Noah stuffed his pockets full of nails and climbed the ladder, hammer in hand, and set to work.

Cordelia watched the two set to their tasks, listening to Noah's suggestion and shaking her head, signalling she had no issue with that. The hunter moved to steady the ladder after Noah went up, climbing up half way after positioning a beam near her that she could reach. With a bit of maneuvering the Attuned hefted the beam towards Noah, holding it steady until he took a hold of it, boosting it the rest of the way up so he might lay it in place.

She continued that process. Occasionally coming down the ladder to grab another and position them close, hefting them up to Noah as he needed them and holding the ladder steady in the mean time.

They continued in a fine working order – and though it took a majority of the day, the plans were executed well. Between passing supplies and Air enchantments, tools and instruments of strength, the fortitude and might of the trio remained – determined in their steadfastness. Roofs came together, and by the time the sun fell, earlier and earlier by the season’s standards, the shelters were complete. Empty, but that could be rearranged later, when they weren’t exhausted.

Coming down from the roof, the Sword stretched out muscles and gazed at the modest homes – content. “Done.” He wiped his hands together, beginning to collect all the other filaments and proportions no longer needed and required. Some extra wood had been gathered in the midst for LongNight preparations, unaware that most of the time they wouldn’t even be here – swept up in the current of events to follow.

But for now, they could survey all the work they’d accomplished, with a satisfied air, and perhaps a bonfire centered between them all. “There. I think we have earned our rest.” A very juvenile, boyish smile broke out of the tired, fatigued haze, and then they could proceed – inspecting, examining, and relishing in what they’d achieved.

Good work fam! We’ve got the shelters built! Extra wood has been collected for LongNight, along with some snow moss for insulation. <3 Well done!
