They are healing. Seiji can be sure of it now. He returns to the house he shares with Kiada, his steps light. He knows now, how to help her. He feels better with the knowing. Better with a plan. But he does not seek her out immediately.
No; instead, he occupies himself with the thresholed to their little house. The door hasn't opened right since they returned from the Rathskeller. Other things have occupied Seiji's attention, but he thinks now is a good time to inspect the poor thing. He spends some time swinging it open and shut, inspecting the hinges, poking, prodding. Murmuring to himself. Eventually, he concludes the uppermost hing is bent. He doesn't think he did much working on doors in his past life, but he can be clever, he will learn.
He is searching through the front rooms for tools — a hammer, some nails to replace the damaged ones — when he hears footsteps approaching from somewhere upstairs. Seiji pauses, his eyes turning toward the noise.

“Are you fixing the door?” She asks after a moment of standing and watching him search for what appears to her as a hammer and nails, and when she approaches she can find it in herself to smile to him. A small smile. But a minor victory in spite of everything. “I’ve been meaning to do that too…” She trails off but sighs quietly and shrugs before she moves to another room and finds a couple hammers and a few differently sized nails, but they should do the trick. She returns with them in hand and reaches out to hand a hammer to Seiji. Her posture is better now, and her eyes a bit more focused but now and then the light shifts from them and becomes unreadable again. But those times are fewer and farther between now.
She turns to the door and surveys it for a moment before crossing her arms across her chest. Then, as she does so, Auni realizes that Seiji is home again and comes barreling from upstairs. His hooves clacking along the staircase as he slides down the last few steps and aims to run straight for Seiji — his favorite next to Kiada. Kiada watches the whole thing unfold and smiles yet again, softly to herself before turning back to Seiji. “He missed you.” She says. “But… how do you think we should go about fixing the door?” She asks, shifting her attention between the door, her friend, and her overly excited companion.
She turns to the door and surveys it for a moment before crossing her arms across her chest. Then, as she does so, Auni realizes that Seiji is home again and comes barreling from upstairs.
