New Racial Features for the Ancients!

Entropy is as entropy does, and as the mother of all chaos, Dygra is always hungry for change. Bestowing upon her Ancients new abilities, perhaps her intention is to combat the influx of void-touched creatures and the arrival of the Family... or maybe she was just bored. Either way, ecosystems are notoriously delicate, and in response, Rae took it upon themselves to balance the sudden flood of creatures in the Climb with those that would allow nature to continue to thrive.

Ancients now have new shifts to choose from as they level, as well as an expanded list of magics! Our OOC rationale for this was that, based on the current options, all Ancients ended up with almost the exact same abilities, which makes the race less dynamic than we would have liked.

Pyrina (Common, the Climb): A cousin of the Alpina, the Pyrina has black fireproof wool to withstand the Climb's heat and firey landscape. Like their kin, they are prone to headbutting any who dare to come near them into the nearest lava pool. Their diet consists mostly of gemstones and fireweed.

Feirw (Common, the Climb):  Related to the Luxere, the Feirw has antlers that are constantly ablaze with flame. With hooves made specifically for moving over the Climb's molten terrain, the Feirw can often be found bathing in lava pools in great numbers.

Fire Padds (Common, the Climb):  These giant species of lilypad never produce flowers. Instead, they weep extremely spicy nectar.

Lava Crawler (Common, the Climb): These caterpillar-type creatures can grow up to several feet in length and are surprisingly fast. Their bodies are quite fuzzy and always warm. If they're able to be kept alive, they make great sleeping companions as your bed will always be warm!

Ash Ferrets (Common, the Climb): These small rodents make their homes at the base of volcanos, hiding amongst the rocks.

Smolder Blossoms (Common, the Climb):  These poppy-like flowers can cause severe burns despite not being physically hot. Brushing past one will feel like touching a hot stove, and holding one for more than a few seconds will cause blistering and 2nd degree burns. Strangely, they do not burn even when thrown into a fire.

Cinderscourge (uncommon, the Climb):| These large raptors are hypercarnivores, known for their speed and savagery. Able to pick up prey such as pyrinas, they tend to drop them from fatal heights as a method of kill their prey. Don't be fooled, their beaks and talons are just as deadly, but these birds famously are clever and rarely expend energy when they don't have to.

Lyvern (uncommon, the Climb): Smaller cousins of the black dragons known to roam the Climb, these lyverns (lava-wyverns) are found in greater number than their larger kin. Able to grow to the size of a small bear, for the most part they prefer to hunt in packs.

New ancient abilities

Dart (basic) | Can teleport up to a foot away
Dart (upgraded) | Can teleport up to 5 ft away
Dart (mastered) | Can teleport up to 15 ft away

Peter Pan (basic) | Can control their own shadow. Shadows are 2D, have a strength of 5 and can weakly effect physical objects around them (within the natural range of the shadow, shadows are flat so they can hit things, but not grab them).

Peter Pan (upgraded) | Can control their own shadow. Shadows are 2D, have a strength of 10 and can weakly effect physical objects around them (within the natural range of the shadow, shadows are flat so they can hit things, but not grab them).

Peter Pan (mastered) | Can control their own shadow. Shadows are 2D, have a strength of 15 and can weakly effect physical objects around them (within the natural range of the shadow, shadows are flat so they can hit things, but not grab them).

As they level they can pick any grey or dark magic from the list of abandoned magic, but can never have light magic or custom magics.

Levelling Changes

At level 10 receive a black dragon shift instead of mastered magic.
