Perhaps the closest equivalent of Caido’s golden retriever energy, Zavien has been the light in an otherwise patch of darkness. Always putting others first, working hard at being a Dragoon and helping Stormbreak thrive in kindness, and always being optimistic, Zavien’s outlook is refreshing and wonderful even with drama and terrible things occurring around him. He always has something helpful to say and a willingness to lend a hand that makes it so fun to keep up with him and we can’t wait to see what else comes his way.
Congratulations, Zavien!

Court of the Fallen was created in October of 2018 by Odd, Honey, and Crooked.
Skinning and hosting by the epically talented Kaons, and functionality fanciness by the coding magic of Neowulf. If you ever see either of them around, make sure to show them some love!
The brush of Tal's ring against her finger was apparently exactly what they'd needed as his flailing came to a stop, immediately followed by a multitude of apologies. Thal just shrugged them off and stepped away to give him space, shuffling her feet slightly at the attention. To Maea, she gave a nod of acknowledgement, glad the other Ancient had escaped unharmed from being a victim of amicicide (Ooh. New fun word.). Her own vision began to clear, allowing her to clearly make out the worried looks amongst the others. Their journey was not off to the best start. If this was what she could expect, Thal was already regretting coming. She wanted to fight creatures not her friends, or hallucinogenic spores.
Making sure her gear was all in place and definitely not avoiding the other's eyes, Thal was already turning back the direction she'd come. "I saw something this way. It looked almost like a purple gem or crystal, but I couldn't get a good look." Again, checking her face covering, she added, "Maybe we should stay a little closer together."

He didn't know anything about Maea's inner turmoil, only the kindly pressure of her hand on his arm as she forgave him. The courier's pale eyes were almost pathetically grateful as he managed to raise them long enough to meet her gaze for a second before he ducked his head back down again shyly, just as awkward as Thalassa when it came to social interactions. "Yeah... thanks. They don't seem t'help much if what I'm seein' is inside my own head though," he admitted reluctantly, hating to reveal the weakness of his oldest item. Still, he carefully rubbed the lenses clean and pulled the Goggles back into place. He used some of his water to rinse his face mask thoroughly before putting it back on, too, and this time he made sure to tie it securely.
He groped over to catch Thalassa's arm, giving it a silent squeeze without saying something either of them might find too uncomfortable and awkward to deal with. But the Captain was already getting back to business and Tal nodded at her suggestion. "If you've found somethin' we can all check out t'gether, we might as well," he agreed. "Huh. If it's a crystal, maybe th' demigods can use it for somethin'." It was worth a shot, at any rate, and he gestured at Thal to lead the way.
Luckily the captain had marked her path and she was able to find it again immediately, but as they moved through the jungle foliage - more carefully this time - a sense of creeping dread began to grow around them. It was a sense that going forward would be a mistake, and a fatal one.
Still, after only a few minutes of walking they would be able to spy the flash of purple again between broad green leaves and behind the reds and yellows of poisonous flowers between them and it. The quiet burble of water underlay the raucous bird and animal calls around them, but several shadowy insects began to flit around the edges of their vision.
Phew! Now they can finally investigate that flash of purple that Thalassa found!
There are some definitely-toxic-looking flowers on the shortest path to it, and Void insects have began to buzz around you!
After learning her lesson on being stingy with her abilities, Maea kept a blob of fire burning by her shoulder as she fell in behind her friends. Choosing to take up the sweep position and go last, she kept her eyes to all sides and occasionally turned around to stand motionless. So far nothing strange had come after them, though in the dense forest with deadly and dangerous flowers, a swaying bow or the slap of a vine might prove just as troublesome as any bite or sting from animals.
Far quicker to act this time, she expanded her flames to cover herself and Talyson, leaving Thalassa free to utilize the fire for her own protection if she so wished. She didn't try to catch the buzzing insects, exactly, they would just have to fly through flame to get to any of them. That sense of dread, though... Dry at the mouth and with her heart pounding hard in the chest, Maea reached out to keep a hand on Tal's shoulder, to make sure they didn't get separated.
"Do we go around, or cut the flower?" she wanted to know. Either way she was too far back to do much, save keep their backs free and the insects at a distance.
Maea slings a net of fire over herself and Talyson to keep the insects away, while providing flame for Thalassa to use if she wishes.

The echo of Tal's hand on her shoulder had her shifting her eyes away to focus on the path. She wove through the foliage, trying to keep her feet from disrupting anymore spores or other suspicious contents. Luckily, her memory hadn't faded of the path she'd taken and she didn't lead them astray. When her eyes spotted the purple once more, she took a closer look at the surroundings. The poisonous looking plants and creepy insects had her quickly pulling from Maea's flames with an understanding nod. She let the fire lick across her skin and around her in a force-field of blazing light that would incinerate anything that came too close.
Scoffing lightly, she pulled out a dagger. "Neither. We go through." Placing the tip between the leaves and petals, she pushed them aside enough to let her hand slip through. She made sure to keep her sleeves down and a curling of flames across her skin to keep it protected from whatever dangers the flora might possess. No matter what, she was determined to grab the object sparkling within.
Thalassa pulls Maea's flames to protect from the bugs and uses her dagger to push aside the flowers, reaching for the purple object.
