RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Noah - 06-05-2025

The world narrowed to Pierce.

Noah’s focus didn’t waver.

In his basilisk form, he loomed—massive and with ancient eyes that shimmered like cracked glass set only on his enemy. Heat radiated from his body, his coils half-submerged in the tide, but his gaze was cold, locked on the man who had once killed Jack and Flora. He didn’t know if Maea and Liam had made it out, as he didn’t take his eyes off of the brawler even as the voice of the family surrounded him.

All Noah needed was a glance. One moment of contact.

There was a flurry of movement around him and familiar voices rang out. His friends knew not to look at him—good. If Vox managed to look at him with too many eyes, then good. Turn static to stone. Beneath his scales, Noah seethed with the weight of everything the Family had taken. He hoped that the man would succumb to his relic’s power, but he prepared to shift back no matter the outcome. He knew he couldn’t stay like this long, or else his friends would be in danger of the relic’s power, too.

Basilisk!Noah keeps his sights set firmly on Pierce, but he wont be mad if Vox gets caught in his gaze too. He prepares to shift the next round, whether Pierce is turned to stone or not.

RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Lena - 06-05-2025

The brief interim of Noe being cleansed, Liam apparently being infected, and then Talyson thereafter, was a whirlwind of emotions bubbling and brewing under the surface. Her worried glances were all she could convey, trying to find Koa and his crew amidst the scattering, panicked crowd.

Zavien’s panic at the courier suddenly being enveloped made her squeeze his hand all over again, trying to lend truth and conviction back into the thick of it. [say]“He can be cured. We know how. It’ll be all right,”[/say] slipped through rapid whispers, and then, it seemed, all they could do was retreat.

And gods, sometimes even for her, that got old too.

With nothing more they could do, she nodded in agreement, hastening to rush out alongside, uttering prayers across her rapid breaths – for more of her friends to find safety, rather than the rampant derision smoldering there.

[say]Lena heads out with Zavien![/say]

RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Aithne - 06-05-2025

The fight is getting worse, and Aithne watches in rapt fascination even as she begins to feel just the slightest inkling that perhaps there are better places to be. But then Soren is tightening his arm around her waist, grabbing her by the hand, and dragging her away - away from Family and gods and men alike, and she stumbles after him through the sand, complaining all the way. [say]"But it was just getting good,"[/say] she whines, just because she can. It doesn't stop her from running, though.

The sand is a challenge, and she trips a fair few times as she continues to follow Soren down the beach. She looks over her shoulder one last time, watching a teensy bit more of the chaos, before it's all too far away to see.

---

Aithne leaves with Soren!

RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Pierce - 06-05-2025

His brother appears in all the static and glittery glory that was this buzzy member of the Family. The perfect referee for them as Pierce’s attention solely focuses in on Sunjata. It’s enough to evade the reach again, allowing Pierce’s laugh to boom in the small area. “[say]Not so tough, huh—[/say]” Cut off by the axe that sinks into his shoulder and Ronin’s snarl. Remember me, you son of a bitch?

Oh, Pierce remembers. “[say]How can I forget the fAmOuS wHiTe KnIgHt?[/say]” He mockingly calls as he feels his blood drip from the hit. Granted, he’s taken a lot so far, but it’s no different than a kitten scratch in the grand scheme. It’s the reprimand that mattered. And the reprimand seems to be what he can only assume to be the White Knight’s friend.

He advances again, lashing out with another flurry aimed at Sunjata, content that if he’s going to bleed, he might as well make someone else bleed too.

Pierce aims yet another flurry attack at Sunjata.

Magic: Flurry | May use three unarmed strikes per round.

RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Remi - 06-05-2025

Remi’s breath hitches as his soulstrike fails to land—nothing but grit and air and too much noise in his ears. He sees the axe hit its mark and the punch that lands right after, watches Sunjata reel back but not fall, and something cold and sharp knots deep in his stomach.

He should’ve stayed in his land as a tank.; should’ve shielded instead of lashed out. Teeth grinding, he doesn’t bother hiding his snarl of frustration. [say]"Ronin!"[/say] he shouts again, voice cracking with urgency. [say]"We need to go now"[/say]

Darting back across the sand, away from the fray, he drags his hand through the air like pulling a thread through water. The magic he reaches for is meant to span leagues, but right now he doesn’t need distance. Just separation. The tug lashes out—sharp, sudden—and aims to hook into Sunjata like a line around his ribs, yanking him away from Pierce and right to Remi’s side in a blink. It's not elegant, nor is it subtle, but if it works, it'll be enough to get the Flood clear. Twisting, Remi places himself in front of Sunjata incase Pierce has anything else up his sleeve.

Remi backs up using his whole movement (so 90 ft from Pierce) and uses Rescue to bring Sunjata to him and then moves to stand in front of him to block any incoming damage.

Magic: Rescue | Remi can bring a fellow Old God demigod to his side in a time of crisis for three concurrent posts. One use per thread. If the summoned demigod also has mastered this ability, they can remain until the end of the thread.
Type: Light | Rank: Mastered

RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Flora - 06-05-2025

Flora lingers just long enough to hear Deimos’ shout and to catch the glint of Ronin’s axe burying itself in Pierce’s shoulder. Vox is a hurricane of limbs and teeth and grief, Sunjata’s still taking hits, and Remi’s voice is cracking through the air like lightning. It’s a fucking demigod battleground now (and also you, Tal, you legend), which means Flora has exactly no business still being here.

Especially not with blood-slick blades in her hands and every useful trinket she owns currently riding Deimos’ pockets like fancy magical luggage. She’s got two daggers, a handful of adrenaline, and exactly zero interest in watching her dads (all three of them) get turned into Swiss cheese while Pierce and Vox play Thunderdome.

Time to goooooo.

Silently, carefully, she slips backward—daggers tight to her sides, sand slipping under her heels. She skirts the edge of the chaos, weaving around the static vortex, the collapsing surf, the fucking basilisk. Someone yells again—Remi, maybe—and she ducks instinctively, holding her breath, before she's on the move again, headed toward the Sugar Tide. If anything happens to the two daggers in her hands, all of this will have been for fucking nothing, and she's keen not to let that happen.

Still invisible, Flora leaves!

RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Thalassa - 06-06-2025

This bastard continues to ignore her after kicking her in the face and then he has the audacity to stare down Pierce? Oh no, Thal is not having it. At least her dagger flies true, digging into the scales of the snake before catching fire in a small blaze. Her magic is still dormant in her blood, but she stalks forward as if she is the flame, hair fluttering and eyes blazing.

With a growling hum, she directs her second dagger for the man/snake and his massive, stupid head. Even if he won't acknowledge her now - after randomly attacking her out of the blue - Thal wants his injuries to be a reminder of what he'd done, for salt to burn and itch at the wounds. She wants them to heal wrong and fester, to scar and pucker, to be the biggest nuisance he's ever had; because no one treats her or her f(F)riends like that.

Thalassa directs Flametouch Dagger (1) at Noah again!

Type: Dark | Style: Offensive | Level: Basic

RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Hadama - 06-06-2025

Flora and Deimos were not visible... but neither were the feather daggers in Pierce's side. The Tidebreaker could only hope that the other leaders were gone by now, having retrieved what they had come for. But that still left the Family, their Friends, and the demigods and Kaisel locked in combat, struggling to disengage.

And Pierce's intense focus on the Flood.

He had paused to examine the situation for too long, and things were moving quickly while he took his time thinking through the consequences of further violence.

In the end, it was not worth it. The Bastion summoned and Hadama made his choice, pulling on his connection to the moon to warp space and step through 31 feet behind Remi, calling out to the hopefully-transported Flood. "Ronin, Noah, Sunjata, it is time to go." He extended a hand to the Archon.

He did not dare glance at Noah, but he pitched his voice to include his friend in the call.

Then he dug deep and gathered his magic a second time to drop a line of Gravity Spikes into the dry sand 60 feet away (half way between Pierce/Vox and Remi/Sunjata), intending to use the impacts to send up a cloud of sand and dust to obscure line of sight between the Family and the demigods.

Magic: Moon Warp: Can teleport anywhere within an adjacent region with 1 other human-sized living thing.
Type: Light | Rank: Mastered

Magic: Time Dilation (FEAT) | Twice per combat (e.g. KQs, PQ+s, PVP) Hadama may use two actions in one turn.
Type: Light | Rank: Mastered

Followed by:
Magic: Gravity Spike: the user borrows a sliver of the moon's power to summon up to three gravity lances that appear above a target within 60ft. Control is excellent.
Type: Light | Rank: Mastered

Magic: Singularity | Adds additional spike at mastered level on a successful hit when Hadama uses his Gravity Spike.
Type: Light | Rank: Mastered

RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Ronin - 06-06-2025

[say]"Didn't think you'd forget,"[/say] Ronin grates out, teeth bared in a grin and his hand raised for the axe to come sailing back into it. [say]"But I thought I'd leave a parting gift this time anyway."[/say] The weapon lands in his palm, dripping blood far too precious to wipe away, and the Knight is already beginning to back up even as Remi summons Sunjata to his side.

The chaos around them is slower but no less deadly for losing some of its momentum, and he flicks a glance to Hadama as he hears his voice ring out. [say]"Glad we're all in agreement. I'll meet you in the city soon."[/say] Nodding to them, he continues to put as much distance as possible between himself and the fight, until he's able to summon an astral version of himself to a nearby safe spot (aka home), and prepare to swap places with it.

Ronin catches his axe, then backs up until he can summon his astral projection to a neighbouring sub-board (The Northaven), intending to swap places with it and disappear next round.

Magic: Once More With Feeling (FEAT) | Twice per combat (e.g. KQs, PQ+s, PVP) Ronin may use two actions in one turn.
Type: Light | Rank: Mastered

Type: Grey | Style: Other | Level: Upgraded
Emmett's Axe | An indestructible axe that will always return to Ronin when thrown. (Made by Remi).

Magic: Astral Projection | Ronin can project a version of himself into another location. He can see, hear and speak in this space, and he can affect it physically, including combat situations. If the astral projection is damaged, it can no longer physically affect the space. He may only project as far as the sub-boards adjacent to his physical location - and only if he has previously visited the board.
Type: Light | Rank: Mastered

Magic: Foe of the Family | Is able to see the true form of the Family and those who are Friends of the Family. Void damage is super effective.
Type: Dark | Rank: Mastered

Regional Score bonus: +15 in all shrine visits, drops, PQ+s, KQs, etc. (You must post this at the bottom of any post where a +15 should be included). Residents cannot be cursed at shrines in this region.

RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Noah - 06-06-2025

Pierce didn’t turn. Not even a flicker of hesitation, not a stumble. Noah’s stare seared through the air like a blade, ancient and burning with divine wrath—but the man just kept moving, kept going for Sunjata. Untouched. Unchanged.

The frustration curdled in Noah’s stomach like bile, bitter and thick. The relic should have worked. His form, his eyes—they were made for this. Yet Pierce slipped through its power like water through fingers.

Shouts cut through the noise—Hadama, Remi—but the message was clear: time to go.

Quickly, he shed the basilisk. Scales rippled back to skin until he stood, human once more. Without even a breath passing, he reached into his pocket and thumbed the compass to disappear to the Court of Stars. There he would notice the pain that lingered through his body from the ancient’s assaults, but he was too focused to feel it now.

Noah shifts then uses his compass to gtfo.

Regional Score bonus: +11 in all shrine visits, drops, PQ+s, KQs, etc. (You must post this at the bottom of any post where a +11 should be included). Residents cannot be cursed at shrines in this region.

Type: Light | Style: Other | Level: Basic
Capitol Compass | Can travel to the political hubs in all settled lands.

RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Sunjata - 06-06-2025

This punch rocks him. He can feel it vibrate through him, echoing in his bones as they jostle with each punch. Something else cracks, he’s fairly certain that between the blood rushing in his ears, he can taste it on his tongue. It’s the recoil that has him sinking his heels into the sand, hissing out another curse, watching as the axe sinks into Pierce’s shoulder before it’s gone again.

And having zero idea of what intentions everyone has, Sunjata takes a last ditch effort in reaching out again for dagger or arrow, spitting some blood into the sand in the process, before he’s pulled forcefully from the fight.

Gasping from the sensation and staggering at Remi’s side, steel eyes lift to see Remi’s back in front of him, protected. “[say]Gods fucking damnit.[/say]” He snarls under his breath, spitting more blood, and goes to leave with Remi. Aching and furious.

Sunjata reaches out for the blade when he gets tugged back to Remi’s side and leaves when Remi leaves.

RE: The Punchiest Pool Party - Vox - 06-06-2025

[say]'WELL."[/say] A static-rattled sigh rips across the beach like a dial-up modem being throttled with piano wire. Somewhere in the swirling dust kicked up by Hadama ’s big-boy moon tantrum, several glowing middle fingers rise above the haze—each of them crackling with petty indignation.

[say]"Real classy, folks! Come to our nice party, eat our snacks, stab our guests, and then vanish in a puff of metaphysical bullshit like this is some kind of divine dodgeball game."[/say] The static begins to coil tighter, shimmering like scorched VHS tape in the sun. A few half-hearted boos sputter out over the dunes, echoing from no visible source.

Vox reconstitutes slowly beside Pierce and Thalassa, as though forming from someone’s corrupted save file: pixelated limbs, rewinding limbs, two feet, three elbows—ah, there it is. He adjusts an invisible tie. Then sighs. Again.

[say]"RUDE."[/say] A long, staticky sniffle. [say]"I was gonna play musical organs. Organ roulette. Ever seen a femur solo? No. Because they RUINED IT."[/say] From some unspeakable pocket of void-space, the sunglasses are drawn and slapped back onto his face with a grumpy flair. The hat follows, dented and covered in slightly-cursed sand.

Vox sulks toward the battered inflatable mirewyrm, static trailing in his wake like a kicked television trying to understand shame.
