RE: buzz cut season - Astaroth - 09-16-2024 Pleased to see that Isla fills both of their glasses to the same amount, he does clink it against hers with a hum of a laugh that slips past his lips. “[say]Well, perhaps if I find any of intrigue I shall send them your way.[/say]” Maybe when time slows down for her Starfall prep she may have time to write down favorite genres and titles she’s already read, so there wouldn’t be any repeat titles sent. (It really is the start of a book club, isn’t it?) “[say]Let me know what you have already read and what you prefer and I shall send some.[/say]” Tipping the glass up to his lips to take a sip, the smile replaces almost immediately. Because the prospect of something that might taste better to take him out like the dead sounds right up his alley. As for where he’s getting it from, it’s with an almost sheepish look that the butcher chuckles lightly. “[say]We got some from the Sparkbird’s Nest, initially. Since then, I have no idea. Danta typically gets it for me.[/say]” He pauses before considering her offer, letting the grin widen a fraction. “[say]Perhaps we should try powder this time? I have been using the liquid solely when I need it.[/say]” And if it tastes better? Win-win. RE: buzz cut season - Isla - 09-16-2024 [say]"I'll include a little note in with the books I keep for you at the clinic,"[/say] Isla assures him with a wink. Given that she's happy to take the current murder mystery novel off his hands, though, he'll be pleased to learn that it's one of her own favourite genres, predictable and disappointing as his current read might be. [say]"And if I get my hands on anything interesting here, I'll send it your way with my recommendations."[/say] Book Guild a-go-go? The Sparkbird's Nest naturally doesn't ring a bell for the Remedy, and she can only guess at the location based on the name. What she does know is that it certainly doesn't seem like a medical clinic, and already her eyebrows are raising behind her glass of punch, unimpressed. [say]"Alright,"[/say] she says with a dubious look, [say]"well, along with the books, I'll include some of the sedative I can make in powder form - how does that sound? It can pack a punch, though, so be careful."[/say] Because the butcher would never do anything reckless or dangerous or assume he's more in control of something than he is, right? Right? RE: buzz cut season - Astaroth - 09-16-2024 “[say]Perfect.[/say]” Astaroth hums, draining another sip from his glass, already thinking up what to send her way for other options for books. While murder mysteries were fun, it wasn’t the sole thing that the butcher was interested in. So content with the idea of their little book club, he shifts his focus toward the talk of sedatives and where precisely he’s been getting them. He doesn’t miss her unimpressed look, and with her warning his grin flashes a touch wider. “[say]Of course, darling. I will be careful.[/say]” Will he? It remains to be seen. Isla doesn’t know the way the butcher has a tendency of overdoing things just to stop feeling certain ways, and that’s something he doesn’t admit to her in the here and now. “[say]I will drop by later.[/say]” He hums to her, snagging the book to hand to her. And with more idle chatter to fill Isla’s midday break, he lets her depart with a bright grin nearly as sunny as the sun itself. — FIN |
