Alys got the sense that Sah was genuinely trying to understand, and she appreciated it greatly. Far too many Halovians had proven to be dismissive of her work, if not downright hostile; it was nice to be able to relax and offer a reading to someone who actually wanted to see what might come of it. As Sah murmured absently, Alys offered an encouraging smile. [say]"It certainly could refer to an upcoming change,"[/say] she agreed. [say]"There are some readings that provide more specific timelines, but I didn't set this one up that way. So it could refer to a recent change or a new change to come - or, perhaps, both. Perhaps there are many changes that have happened and have yet to happen, all of which need to be balanced."[/say]
After a brief pause to see if Sah had any further questions or input, and allowing for time to discuss those as needed, Alys pulled the final card. [say]"The two of swords,"[/say] she said, showing him the card, which depicted a woman sitting by the sea, blindfolded, holding two crossed swords over her chest. [say]"A stalemate or crossroads. You may need to make some kind of choice or decision. Paired with the rest of the reading, you may find that a recent or upcoming change may require you to make a choice in order to find balance - a sacrifice, of sorts."[/say]

Sah's brow furrowed, [say]"A sacrifice?"[/say] That certainly didn't bode well. The hybrid let out a hum, taking in all of the information that Alys had presented through her cards. A looming or already occurred change that would lead to an important choice. One that would restore balance but at a cost. His eyes moved from the cards to the seer, giving her a warm smile, [say]"I don't know much about fortune readings, but I think walking away with the sentiment of 'needing to be especially careful about future choices and their possible consequences' is pretty solid."[/say]
It was sound advice that could never be repeated enough. The reminder was appreciated, even if Sah didn't fully understand the process of how it was born. Alys clearly knew what she was doing with her fortune readings, and he appreciated her taking the time to read his.

[say]"Keep in mind that a sacrifice can take many forms,"[/say] Alys advised gently, trying to soften the blow. [say]"Some of which we may not be able to see until after the fact. And we may view it as worthwhile. Think of the freedom a parent sacrifices in order to raise a child, but most parents would agree that they wouldn't trade it for anything."[/say]
But regardless, it seemed that Sah grasped the overall message quite well, and Alys grinned back at him, pleased to have given what seemed to be a successful reading to her friend - even if he wasn't quite sure how to feel about the message. [say]"You're a natural,"[/say] she laughed. [say]"Try not to worry too much. Sometimes the cards make things sound much more dire than they are."[/say]
With the reading over, Alys offered her friend some tea, deciding that she could take a little time to catch up further before returning to her work. It was with a lighter heart that she bid him farewell some time later, only to welcome a new client into her space for another reading.
