RE: menaces to society - Flora - 11-19-2024 The sound of Koa's laughter hits her like a punch; Koa had never used his wraps on her, but gods if he had, she's sure the invisible thrust of the blow would have felt just like this. Suddenly cold all over, the queen doesn't know what to make of the fact that he thinks it was Melita who'd thrown the water balloon instead of her. Gods, that was probably for the best, wasn't it? What right did she have to try and steal even a fraction of his attention, and -- --Someone should be calling the Dragoons over here! Turning back to the commotion below, Flora has time to see a balloon fly toward the woman stomping angrily towards Dragoon HQ, just as a few other Karen-types began to bristle and puff up like angry hens. Scoffing and rolling her eyes, the queen takes aim at the louder of the two. Flora throws a balloon at one of the Karens! RE: menaces to society - Mateo - 11-19-2024 Having bitten his cheek hard enough to bring tears to his eyes in an attempt not to burst out laughing, Mateo finds himself next to Spying the additional Karens - and not knowing that Flora has also decided to target one of them - the choice seems very clear, and it's with another mischievous grin that he lets loose his next balloon, wondering if this one will contain a small rubber ducky. He almost hopes it doesn't, if only because he kind of wants one for himself and he'll definitely get caught if he goes down there chasing it. Mateo aims for the other Karen! RE: menaces to society - Melita - 11-19-2024 The Honeybee arched a brow and snorted, though not loud enough for anyone below to hear, at But it gave juuuust enough of a pause for Melita to sink her little attempts in there, and in one long throw, arched it significantly so it hit the woman square in the back. Her cursing was impeccable, and scared several others away as she began to continue marching towards the Dragoons headquarters. Meanwhile, the other two Karens, thoroughly involved in everyone else’s business, began questioning the tourists. [say]“Did you see anyone? Where did it come from?"[/say] Too stunned, the journeying crew could barely get two words out before someone else spoke up. [say]”Well they have to be around here somewhere,”[/say]. All these altercations gave Flora and Mateo ample set-up time, and the two nosey bats were struck in the shoulder and head respectively. Which cued another massive round of shrieking. -- [say]Koa has missed Mrs. Engalion but avoided being caught. Melita hit Mrs. Engalion on her way out but she’s headed to get a Dragoon or two. Flora has hit one of the Karens! Mateo has hit the other Karen! Targets Available for this Round: - Incredibly loud and questioning Karens but also very soaked - Two locals, farther away because Mrs. Engalion is scaring them - Dumbfounded and already soaked tourists - Your competitors Current Point Status: Melita: 30 Koa: 10 Flora: 35 Mateo: 30[/say] RE: menaces to society - Koa - 11-20-2024 Things are getting swiftly out of hand, and while part of Koa is enjoying the chaos, another, more responsible part knows he really ought to try and curb it before it goes too far. Beaning Mrs. Engalion and her busy-body friends is one thing; risking exposure and damage to his reputation is another. So Koa decides to focus within, by which he means on Mateo. Surreptitiously stepping back ten feet from his friend, he pretends to be looking in the distance while his magically extended reach mimics the act of picking up two balloons, the spaltting them, hopefully, on the botanist's head. Using the extended reach from his bracers, Koa tries to sneakily pop two balloons over Mateo's head RE: menaces to society - Mateo - 11-21-2024 Oblivious to the JUDAS sneaking around behind him, Mateo is too busy being delighted by the way his balloon (and another, presumably Flora's) manages to take out the two Karens, much to their shrieking irritation. Already with more ammo in hand, the botanist peeks over the wall and surveys his options. He feels as though Mrs. Engalion and her two friends deserve a break, if for no other reason than he doesn't want the Dragoons, when they show up, to think them unfairly targeted. Just regular targeted, you know? And so, narrowing blue eyes at the locals dithering from further back, Mateo decides to reward them for their decision paralysis with a water balloon to the face. Hopefully. Judging the angle and distance and wishing he was actually any good at sports, he eventually gives it a jolly good yeet and hopes for the best. Mateo aims for one of the two locals! RE: menaces to society - Flora - 11-22-2024 Similar to Mateo's line of thinking, Flora also doesn't want to give their Karen any more ammunition if and when she gets ahold of the dragoons, and not just because she doesn't want to see Koa get into trouble. Reaching for another balloon, the queen aims for the two locals milling around the outside of the splash zone, before taking aim and firing. Maybe it wasn't really in the spirit of what Ludo would have wanted, given that Flora's intention was to scare them away, but whatever. She was fairly certain the chaos around her would more than make up for it. [say]"I wish I'd brought Spice."[/say] Flora murmurs to no one in particular, given that she didn't really know where Melita was. [say]"She could have dropped balloons from above."[/say] Could have frozen them as well, though that seemed unnecessarily mean. Being wet was one thing, being wet and cold was another entirely. Flora throws a balloon at the locals to try and scare them off! RE: menaces to society - Melita - 11-22-2024 Melita would’ve been quite content with targeting the Karens until they were in tears, escaping, or knocked out, but it seemed everyone else had a different agenda. Rolling her eyes, considering they couldn’t see her scoff or pout, she opted to hurl one at The Dragoon had similar luck with Mateo, dropping two balloons ( But they’d taken probably one too many risks now – with multiple Karens streamlining about, antsy locals and dumbfounded tourists, and Mrs. Engalion likely returning with another Dragoon any moment, they’d come to something inevitable. Rendering herself visible for the moment, she called out to everyone else. [say]“All right, let’s move to a different area,”[/say] before they were caught. Grabbing hold of the bucket of water balloons, she began walking across the rooftops, ducking down low enough so that she might not be seen, but it’d be another reel of uncertainty. -- [say]Melita has hit Koa! Koa has hit Mateo! Mateo has hit one of the locals! Flora has hit the other local! Move with Melita across the rooftops to a new area! No post order! No targets this round. Current Point Status: Melita: 45 Koa: 25 Flora: 45 Mateo: 40[/say] RE: menaces to society - Flora - 11-22-2024 Opting to stay invisible because 1. she was queen of Torchline and didn't really want to be called to Dahlia's office to explain herself (not that she thought the Reaper would care, but just on the off chance) and 2. koa, Flora instead shuffled toward the Honeybee loudly enough for her presence to be more or less obvious. [say]"Here, I can carry some stuff."[/say] So saying Flora grabs one of the buckets of balloons and begins to carefully follow her friend across the roof. Not needing to duck to stay hidden was probably a good thing given that skirting across shingles and thatched rooves wasn't Flora's forte and as per usual, she wasn't wearing the most appropriate footwear for the occasion. RE: menaces to society - Mateo - 11-22-2024 Mateo is delighted, naturally, to see his water balloon hit its mark - so far, every round has been a success, and he can't help but feel smug about that. Granted, his delight soon turns to utter shock and surprise, the botanist nearly jumping out of his skin and inhaling sharply to feel not one, but two balloons burst over his head, and he whips around to narrow his eyes at the only culprit directly behind him. (That would be you, [say]"You will get yours,"[/say] he playfully seethes at his friend, nodding to Melita and following her (and the floating bucket of balloons which he assumes to be his sister) across the rooftops. No stranger to clambering on surfaces that shouldn't really be clambered upon, Mateo moves on quick, sure feet and without any fear of heights, eager for more chaos. RE: menaces to society - Koa - 11-22-2024 Koa barely has time to celebrate landing a balloon on Mateo when another one strikes him on the shoulder - and honestly, things are beginning to feel a little discriminatory at this point. [say]"Hey!"[/say] he calls in the direction of the invisible pair of girls, [say]"I know I'm big, but that doesn't mean I'm the only target here!"[/say] At least he's managed to get Mateo wet as well, though the only response his friend's accusation will get is a faux-innocent expression of who, me? But then they're moving, which is just as well, because Koa's spotted some familiar uniforms moving toward the scene. Grimacing silently, he turns to follow the odd array of Honeybee, floating basket, and damp botanist across the roofs, hoping that his familiarity with Stormbreak and hunched posture will afford a level of stealth beyond his usual prowess. RE: menaces to society - Melita - 11-23-2024 With stealth modes activated, the group of four carried their haul across rooftops, sly and sneaky against the outcropping of darkness. Plentiful lights below didn’t cast their shadows, and by the time they reached their new destination, word hadn’t yet spread about the shenanigans going on further down the lane. With a grin, Melita set down her portion of their weaponry, gazing out amongst a more settled crowd; inevitably to be stirred and disturbed. [say]“I think we can work with this.”[/say] Below was an open setting once more – another portion of a plaza with kiosks and sellers of all sorts of food, merchants with stalls and wares, and then different crowds. Some teenagers seem to be gathered in a huddle, contemplating whatever new fad had them arguing back and forth. Children accompanied their parents, strolling by and demanding toys and hot cocoa. All in all, future victims. The Honeybee grabbed her water balloon, rendered herself invisible, and stalked the multitudes from their great heights – inviting all the others to do the same. -- [say]Everyone has arrived at their new destination safely and without being caught! Choose your next target. No post order! Targets Available for this Round: - Merchants - A group of teenagers arguing - Parents and children strolling around and acting entitled - Your competitors Current Point Status: Melita: 45 Koa: 25 Flora: 45 Mateo: 40[/say] RE: menaces to society - Mateo - 11-25-2024 [say]"You were not a target for me at all until you ruined my curls,"[/say] Mateo hisses back at And so Mateo hunkers down, grabs a water balloon, and promptly whips around to throw it directly at Koa's chest. He'd really like to have beaned him in the face with it, truth be told, but given that the Dragoon has just boasted about how big he is, his chest seems like a much easier target. Mateo throws a balloon at Koa! RE: menaces to society - Flora - 11-25-2024 Moving to stand near Mel while the Honeybee remained visible, both so that she had someone to talk to and also to distance herself from the fuckery going on between Koa and her brother, Flora sets down the bucket she'd been carrying. [say]"You know, I bet we could spread a rumour that this was all done by fickle Leafchange spirits or something."[/say] The smirk on her lips would be evident in her voice even if her friend couldn't see it as she helped herself to another balloon. [say]"That, or we could say it was void related."[/say] She adds with a shrug, glancing below. Merchants felt off-limits and while teenagers loitering around would have been a good target, it was the parents tugging their children along as if they owned the streets below that held Flora's stare. [say]"Gotcha,"[/say] she whispered under her breath, taking aim at a mother who had her son on a literal leash. Flora aims for a parent! RE: menaces to society - Koa - 12-01-2024 Koa might have preferred they move away from passers by, but alas, any semblance of authority he may have possessed has been soundly stripped away by Melita's laissez-faire approach to the world. At least he's managed to forge a rivalry with Mateo which keeps the botanist's focus off pedestrians on the street, even if it's at the price of Koa's own comfort and warmth. Already his damp shirt clings to sculpted muscle, and his hair is slick where he's pushes it off his face. [say]"Oh, come, it's refreshing!"[/say] he taunts his friend mischievously, trying to maintain enough distance from Mateo to allow him to dodge the inevitable retort. [say]"Besides, shouldn't we be working together against the real enemy here?"[/say] he adds, jutting his chin pointedly at the girl(s). Pulling another balloon from his stash, he hurls it past the already-damp botanist, toward the rather unjustly dry Mel. Koa tries to avoid being hit by Mateo and throws a balloon at Mel! |
