RE: hollow earth and ascending light - Ronin - 12-04-2024

Reaching up to ruffle a gentle finger through Remi's feathers as if to tell him not to worry about it, Ronin considers the alternative suggestion and nods. [say]I think I could persuade him to come to Halo for an engagement celebration. Just us boys and all that - I'll tell him we're going hunting. Just make sure to be ready when we reach the springs, yeah?[/say]

Because while he thinks (hopes) Sunjata will thank them once he's no longer in the grips of a void infection, he doesn't expect the Flood to go without a fight if he figures out what's going on beforehand. [say]I can arrange it as soon as we get back, if that suits everyone.[/say] Timelines going haywire aside, there's really no time like the present to get something like this off the ground.

RE: hollow earth and ascending light - Deimos - 12-04-2024

As ruminations parsed through, Deimos withheld the sigh threatening to build in his chest. It went inward, blocked; nothing was going to be perfect about the attempts, no matter the situation and circumstances. [say]We can try it.[/say] He extended to Ronin, once Remi announced teleportation was out of the realm of possibility. That Sunjata would accept the Sword’s involvement with any ‘engagement party’ was laughable, but they could try some other form of a lure if that one didn’t coincide.

[say]I can ask Koa or Zavien about the ring.[/say] As soon as they got everything together and coordinated – sooner, rather than later.

Though, that did leave the other portions hanging – specifically about gardening tools, that they hadn’t touched upon yet. [say]What about the rapier?[/say]

RE: hollow earth and ascending light - Remi - 12-04-2024

[say]If you think he'll come for that.[/say] Their last dinner with the Flood had gone well, but whether or not that meant he'd be willing to travel all the way across the continent for a bit of hunting with Ronin remained to be seen. Especially if he already knew he was infected and Halo just happened to be the one place with a spring specifically designed to heal those tainted by the void.

But it was definitely worth a shot.

As for the rapier? Sighing down the bond, Remi gives his head a small shake as he adjusts his wings. [say]First I suppose we should warn everyone. Remove the element of surprise.[/say] Ronin could send Pierce's image around to be plastered on notice boards as they'd done with Dahlia. [say]But he was strong. And fast. I wonder if it isn't worth going to the gods to see if there is something more we could have in our arsenal against them.[/say]

RE: hollow earth and ascending light - Ronin - 12-04-2024

[say]I think you vastly underestimate how dumb Sunjata and I can be when we're together. I doubt he'll think anything of a hunting trip with me.[/say] Ronin sounds surprisingly confident about the whole thing to say that it hinges on his persuading the Flood. Time will tell though, he supposes. [say]If the two of you wait in the springs, you'll be able to tell when we're close by. We'll catch him off guard.[/say] And already the Knight is writing an apology letter in his head, but he assumes and hopes Jata will be thankful once he's no longer infected.

Mention of the rapier has dragonscale rippling down Ronin's neck and across his shoulders beneath his shirt, and he clenches his hands into fists and drops his gaze away from the Sword. [say]I'll make sure there's a warning sent out,[/say] he says. [say]This guy took it from me like it was something easy for him. I'm willing to go to Safrin if it comes to it, but honestly, Ludo or Frey might be a better option.[/say] If only because it's already been proven that celestial abilities are next to useless against the Family.

RE: hollow earth and ascending light - Deimos - 12-04-2024

Deimos arched his brow at the summation of hunting trips with Ronin and Sunjata combined, but if it was going to be taken care of, he remained unbothered. He and Remi would have enough time to make it to the springs, and wait for the subsequent ambush. [say]Fine by me[/say] he gave with acceptance and a piece of pumpkin bread for good measure.

Notions of notice boards and warnings spread across Caido had him nodding as well, much as they’d done for Dahlia. He figured Sunjata, in his current state, likely wouldn’t, and Stormbreak was its own issue, but he’d pass along the messages whenever he could – to trustworthy individuals as well. [say]If you can get us an image and description, most of the leaders can take care of the rest.[/say] As well as anyone else who’d helped plan amidst those groups, in what felt like ages ago.

The notions of gaining items had his head tilting; uncertain about the parameters or what those particulars might encompass. [say]What sort of abilities were you thinking?[/say] Something to maximize speed and swiftness? Invisibility again, for those who didn’t already have such considerations?

RE: hollow earth and ascending light - Remi - 12-08-2024

[say]Do you have an invisibility cloak?[/say] Glancing toward Deimos, the Bastion seemed to recall back from their days in the artisans guild that the Sword had been working on such an item. Then again, Remi's memory had never been terribly reliable, so it was worth double checking. [say]I can fade away in strong sunlight, but...I am not sure with Halo's weather that is something I can count on being able to do.[/say] He adds with a slight mental shrug.

[say]Perhaps Mort might have some way I can knock out a soul for longer.[/say] Remi suggests. [say]Or some way of having it simply be more effective, or if I can just be better..[/say] Even weakened as the Family apparently was because of the loss of the Oerwould, Feverlands, and Greatwood, still they seemed more than capable of taking on a handful of demigods singlehandedly.

RE: hollow earth and ascending light - Ronin - 12-08-2024

[say]I'll see it done,[/say] Ronin assures Deimos, and with the matter of the Sunjata-kidnapping?-rescue? cemented, along with his plans to spread word about Pierce, the Knight also helps himself to some pumpkin bread and falls quiet to listen to the discussions - at least until he hears everyone out. [say]Air magic is meant to be particularly effective too, if we can find a way to amplify that for you,[/say] he suggests quietly.

[say]And though I doubt it, given that I'm Vi's chosen these days, but I could always see if there's a way to add some kind of gravity magic to my remit.[/say] Otherwise just having a weapon he can use properly would be enough. He fights not to clench his jaw about it, worried he'll end up hearing his teeth creaking at this point. [say]But either way - I suppose that's a conversation to be had individually with our deities.[/say]

RE: hollow earth and ascending light - Deimos - 12-08-2024

[say]I do[/say], he answered with a nod as well – the invisibility cloak was one of his favorite items, and had come in handy in many situations. The notion of using it for the “healing” measures amused him, but he kept that to himself. [say]If yours does not work, mine is upgraded and can provide enough room for both of us.[/say] Given that it could fit Zuriel underneath it as well, Deimos figured it wouldn’t be an issue.

Amplifiers seemed to be the ideal semblances – and though it might’ve been something easily done for demigods, Deimos had to wonder if Safrin would approve of heightening his Abandoned side of credentials. It was worth a try – and if she wasn’t willing, perhaps he could create something on his own. [say]I will see what I can do.[/say] Some options, nonetheless.

And from there, they could continue until they’d had their fill of conversation, snacks, and plans. There were other machinations to pursue.
