RE: a skip in the right direction - Nova - 12-25-2024 The three skips of the seer's stone was enough for Nova to erupt in another victory dance, cheering and shuffling her feet in wild celebration. Her laughter sparkled along with the rippling water as she touted her congratulations. [say]"That was so much better! Best one yet!"[/say] She offered her hand out for an enthusiastic high-five, beaming with pride for the woman's achievement. However, at Alys's question, Nova noticed the horizon turning a suspicious shade of purplish pink. She jumped, dropping the stone she'd grabbed for her own attempt with a loud crash and a gasp. [say]"Oh no! I better get back too! My siblings are going to be sooo worried about me."[/say] Although they'd come to expect this kind of behavior from her, they were still new to Caido, and there were plenty of opportunities for danger to present itself. Hopefully they hadn't already woken up to find her gone. She'd better hurry. Spinning in the fading starlight, Nova gave the woman a wave and a bright smile as she skipped backwards towards home. [say]"I'll be watching you around!"[/say] It sounded more like an unintentional threat than the warm farewell she meant it to be, but that idea barely crossed her mind as she retreated into the expiring night like a shooting star leaving a glittering trail in its wake. RE: a skip in the right direction - Alys - 12-26-2024 Purple tinged the horizon, which lightened with each passing second. Alys hadn't realized so much time had passed, but now it was time she returned to the Peregrine. She hoped she hadn't worried Tal by being out so late. It wasn't common for her to spend the night away from their shared space. Honestly, he'd probably get a kick out of the way she'd passed the time. [say]"Goodbye,"[/say] Alys said, waving to her new friend and smiling at the strange farewell. The woman had been a little odd, perhaps, but in an endearing kind of way. Alys wondered if she'd see Nova again. She rather hoped so; it was kind of nice to be around someone so vibrant and bubbly for a bit. For now, though, it was time to return to the Peregrine for some much-needed sleep. fin |
