RE: supernovas singing - Melita - 02-13-2025

Whether or not she has an argument lodged in her chest seemed to matter very little; she could tell it wouldn’t have made much of a point any longer. Validity went both ways regardless, but she still stewed, staring at the spit and leaving Fangorn to occasionally rotate it with his vines. In her mind, there were a lot of problems, and some of them had been combined into multitudes of Caido citizens hoping and praying someone else did the work for them. [say]“Gods. Is that it?”[/say] She muttered, removing her hands from around her chest so her elbows could be planted on her legs, head in her palms.

Nose wrinkling, she didn’t want to sound dismissive of the “plan”, but it didn’t provide anything the lot of them weren’t already doing. [say]“What if I round up a bunch of us to go flower searching again?”[/say] And then they could hold some, or plant them upon Starfall. And while she'd hated the thought moments before, at least it was an action.

“[say]Yeah, for now.[/say]” Sunjata says heaving a little sigh, rubbing at his cheek after he’d helped Fangorn out with twisting the spit to help the sausages cook evenly. He mulls over everything else they could do when she brings a point up that has his gaze immediately shooting toward her, brows lifting – because it isn’t something he’s thought of, but would be a really good start. And that way she could feel like she’s doing something even while they don’t really have anything to do at the moment.

Nodding, he lets a little bit of relief pour into his face as plans start to flicker through his mind. “[say]Yeah, that’s a good idea. Let me know when and I’ll tag along.[/say]” He pauses, thinking a little bit more before he realizes something else, too. “[say]We can try the Greatwood again, too.[/say]” He murmurs, searching for either lilies or roses to try and gain something.

[say]“Okay,” [/say]she murmured, nose wrinkling again in her perpetually bothered state. Sometimes actions just felt like that – movement, motion, wheels spinning – but she’d rather commit to that then naught at all. Perhaps, in the meantime, they’d be able to forge or foster something else out too. Or some other event would unravel into more nonsense. The usual Caido affair.

Glancing upward, back at her uncle, she huffed and sighed, poking at the spit too. [say]“Yeah. Maybe after LongNight?”[/say] She intended to booze it up and party on the beach during that interval of time – and she couldn’t imagine searching through forests under the constant cover of evening anyway.

Sometimes all they could do was try and hope for a different answer again and again. And with them both quite high up on the Family’s shit list, so trying to ride the line between keeping their heads down and working together to find something that might work was a challenge. But… They could look for roses or lilies and that would be the best they could do for the interim.

But she’s right, and he shifts a little to sit on the log beside her rather than away from her – seeking his niece’s companionship as they come to an agreement. “[say]After LongNight we’ll head out. But you better stay safe.[/say]” He murmurs, flashing her a small playful smile before he winds an arm around her shoulders in a quick hug.

He’ll stay with her the rest of the evening until the sausages are cooked and his company edges toward annoyance more than it does comfort.
