Flora’s smile remains playful as her ring heats ever so slightly against her finger—clearly Niki’s necromantic experiences aren’t quite as dull as he’d like her to believe, but she graciously decides to let him off the hook. For now, anyway. ['say]"Mhmm,"[/say] she hums indulgently, eyes sparkling as she lifts her tea for another sip, curling more comfortably into her chair.
[say]"Well, it’s probably better that way,"[/say] she says lightly, shooting him a knowing glance from beneath her lashes. [say]"Less exciting, but fewer nightmares."[/say]
Contentment settles gently between them as they turn back to their tea and books, the warmth and quiet of the shop wrapping them comfortably in a shared peace. After all, she’s certain there will be plenty of time in the future to unravel the fascinating secrets Niki so carefully guards—one cup of tea and one little lie at a time.
