RE: Beneath the Frozen Silence - Elizabeth - 06-18-2025

She noted the fleeting looks to the horizon, the subtle undertones of her vague words. It had Elizabeth thinking more as she gathered her stones. Her voice carried softly over the snow, distorted by memories and thoughts when she said, [say]"If I remember correctly, it had also just finished a hunt."[/say]

Picking up a particularly shimmery rock, Elizabeth brushed the snow from its smooth surface. [say]"What about the big ones make you hate them?"[/say] It was an innocent enough question, paired with the casual ease of her movements as she placed the new rock in her bulging back with the rest of them, although her ears were attentive for the response, curious and wondering if she might be a source of help for any unresolved traumas.

When she heard Noah's voice call out, she glanced up from her kneeled position next to another stone. [say]"I think we're just about finished, right Venna?"[/say] She looked to the young woman, a smile on her face that was rich with budding friendship.

RE: Beneath the Frozen Silence - Ravenna - 06-18-2025

Lifting her gaze to meet Elizabeth's eyes in an unwavering frankness, Ravenna replied, [say]"Because they're scary. I hate being scared."[/say] There was more to it, of course - so much more - but for all that this person seemed nice, she was still a stranger. If Noah hadn't said anything about the incidents, then she would keep quiet about it too.

As Noah called to check their progress, the girl weighed her bag again. [say]"Yeah, almost full,"[/say] she reported, while getting up. [say]"We can start to head back."[/say] She kept bending over to pick a last few stones as she headed towards Noah, until the bag strained on her muscles and she couldn't carry anything more. Pulling on the muffler around her neck as they began the trek back home, she cast the occasional glance at Ramund as he shuffled along by her side. Maybe next time, she'd make sure to bring a saddlebag for him... It would definitely look funny!
