RE: Snake you're a snake I can see it in your face - Soren - 08-06-2025

The serpent thrashed, half-blind and bleeding void ichor and stinking blood into the steam-heavy air. Soren wheeled above, wings turning him. One eye ruined, its head snapped blindly around, but he was already climbing higher, circling for another strike.

He heard Maea’s voice—raw, charged, thick with magic that curled and bit at the edges of the cave—and it surged him on. Kai’s praises made his avian pride swell as he swooped in. He shrieked again, a wild, piercing call that echoed through the cavern like a challenge.

His talons tried to sink in just behind the serpent’s jaw. Let the others strike from afar. Soren would keep it grounded, savaged and shrieking, until there was nothing left.

Soren attacks in shift again!

RE: Snake you're a snake I can see it in your face - Maea - 08-07-2025

It was a miracle that no one got bit, the way the serpent thrashed and snapped after agile feet and tail feathers. Even injured - or perhaps because of it - the snake was putting up a good fight. But so too did their rag-tag team.

Readying herself for eventual injuries to the boys, Maea stayed back and utilised the Bloodboon gift upon herself, so that her skin would be ready for mauling again. Through the haze of pain and magic she saw Soren pin the snake in place against the rocky cavern floor, and a moment later Kaisel's chakram sliced into the creature's throat. Purple blood spilled out, pooling in cracks and dips; for a while longer that sinuous body kept thrashing, coiling in and around itself – until finally it stilled, and their own ragged breaths was all that could be heard.

[say]"... we did it,"[/say] Maea finally announced, straightening out of her ready stance when nothing else stirred in the shadows. [say]"Very well done, both of you! If you're hurt at all, let me know - if not, I'd say we're done here."[/say]

A bit of cleaning up and disposing of the void tainted carcass was all that remained, and given how she'd left much of the actual fighting to the young men, Maea would take it upon herself to deal with that. It had been a very successful patrol; she hoped it would help bolster them all in confidence and experience at the end of the day. Certainly Frey's Breath was safer for their efforts, and that alone was enough for her.

Done! Thank you for participating! <3
