RE: Spin out, lose control - Hotaru - 08-22-2025 Between the physical heart she carries, the bond that transmits their souls between them, and the transparency of his soulful eyes, Sunjata will never have to worry about whether Hotaru knows his love. Not that it will stop either of them from telegraphing it everywhere else they can think of - reluctant to invite old habits and flaws that had once caused such pain and distance. Her cheek swells beneath his fleeting lips as if in farewell of her own - a physical reminder of how every little thing he does makes her happy. Something worth far more than gold or jewels or renown. Gods, what has he made of the woman she'd once been? And how can she ever thank him enough for that in their endless lifetimes? The shrieking death throes are a bit of a mood killer for the thought, but never enough for the entire mood. Hotaru grins in mirrored toothy angles to match the roguish tilt of his smile, fingertips already twitching with restless desire. [say]"Better together, aren't we?"[/say] It's an exaggerated simper that doesn't befit the context, but she can't help taking the chance while it's wide open. Winking, she calls lightning down from blue skies and willpower to strike in lovely, bright angles at the creature - providing the perfect illuminated opening for Sunjata to add his own power and put an end to the miserable thing. And perhaps an end to this miserable day, which has become brighter now because of him. RE: Spin out, lose control - Sunjata - 08-24-2025 Growing together, that was the plan. That they wouldn’t fall into the traps of their old ways – of doing things only because it was easier. They both knew it would make things harder in the long run. So he can be her pillar just as much as she is his when the nightmares come. And together they can be the perfect storm. Such as they are with these river stars that come trundling in. “[say]Yeah we are.[/say]” Sunjata says, paying little mind to the context nor the exaggeration. It was true in more ways than one, and for that Sunjata turns his focus on the intruders with his fiancée at his side. And alongside her lightning, Sunjata sends the ice shards out to the creatures, impaling them limb by limb as she chars them up, leaving smoke and ash in their wake – washed out into the water in gnarly purple-black hues. And once they’re done here, he’ll sweep her up into his arms to cart her off wherever she wished to go, fully indulging in her as she deserves. - FIN |
