She swings her bow back over her shoulder as he goes on to investigate, nodding when his confirmation comes not long after. It's the answer she expected, but it's a relief to hear it all the same. She much preferred keeping her distance for something like this, because though she'd do it, sliding a knife up close and watching the last light leave their eyes has always left her a little hollow afterwards. Better that than choking on their last breaths though, a mercy, even for the monstrous, especially these that had been overrun by something foreign.

Now everyone could wander to and from the vendors in peace again at least.

She waits for him to rejoin her, shaking off all the residual trembles from the excitement. His compliment lands firmer than usual, like praise is something she can't quite work out what to do with, but this one sticks better. A half smile returns to her face and a breathy [say]"thanks,"[/say] slips free. [say]"Quite the fancy footwork you had,"[/say] she returns, glancing up at him with meaning. Appreciation for the way he'd tousled with the threat, and gratitude for him even being here to do it at all.

A full grin meets his tease, and she laughs as she turns, expecting him to step into stride alongside her so they can head back to the docks. [say]"Yeah, just wait until the third,"[/say] she threatens, an arm looping through his, leaning into him as they saunter back towards town and a well earned lunch.
