RE: high infidelity - Sohalia - 10-19-2025

To be allowed the space to grieve, and to be bitter, and to be angry, if she wanted to be, was something that Soh had not allowed even herself in the weeks since everything she'd thought she'd known had come crashing down. She was supposed to be gracious. Supportive. Always present to lend a hand with a smile on her face. But here, now, she felt all that she wasn't meant to, and it threatened to pull her under.

So instead of drowning, the Luminary opted for levity. [say]"You're being very wise and benevolent this evening,"[/say] she teased, propping herself up on her elbow to reach for the lantern. With it lit, now she supposed she was supposed to simply wait. [say]"Very demigod of you - if you ever had any desire for that sort of thing, you're getting good practice."[/say] And then she winked.

Moths began to flutter around the lantern, drawing Soh's eye, but she largely ignored them. There was probably some metaphor for her life - being drawn over and over to some flame or other, only to end up burned - but she wasn't interested in examining it at the moment. Not when Flora was determined to have such fun. [say]"Oh, can you imagine being able to change your appearance at will?"[/say] she asked, laughing in a way that made it clear she was only half joking. [say]"I mean, why stop at hair color? Why not a whole disguise?"[/say]

Still laughing, she squeezed Flora's hand. [say]"Deal. Anything you want, I'm down."[/say]

RE: high infidelity - Flora - 10-21-2025

Flora rolls her eyes with a huff of laughter, though it rings a little hollow still, echoing faintly with the ache that hasn’t quite left her chest. [say]"Heartbreak’ll do that to you,"[/say] she mutters, flashing Soh a lopsided smile that’s trying hard to be normal. Trying, and almost managing.

The moment Soh teases about her being demigod material, Flora immediately wrinkles her nose with dramatic flair, shaking her head so vigorously that her curls bounce around her shoulders. [say]"Absolutely not,"[/say] she says with exaggerated horror. But she hums thoughtfully at the idea of full transformations, nodding with a dreamy sort of expression as her gaze flicks toward the waterfall. [say]"Okay, but yes, that would be so fun. You’d never have to get ready again. Just wake up and bam—new hair, glowing skin, dramatic eyeliner already done. Gods, I’d save hours."[/say]

Beaming down at her friend, Flora gives Soh’s hand a squeeze before rising to her feet, the oversized shawl slipping slightly off one shoulder as she stretches. [say]"Okay. I’m gonna go grab more blankets and snacks from the Sugartide,"[/say] she announces, already stepping barefoot over the meadow grass with her usual swing of hips and glint of gold at her wrists.

She disappears into the dark for a few minutes, the sound of distant rummaging and the clink of bottles echoing faintly across the glade. When she returns, it’s with a half-stuffed bag thrown over one shoulder, bursting with extra blankets, at least three kinds of cheese, a fresh bottle of wine, and something suspiciously chocolate. Her smile returns in full force as she drops it beside the blanket with an exaggerated thud. [say]"Emergency provisions,"[/say] she declares, and with that, she plops down beside Soh again, the flickering lantern casting soft light over both of them as the glacial water rises and falls in impossible rhythm just beyond their reach.
