RE: just let it slide - Aithne - 12-30-2025

Aithne chases after Melita, but the demigod chooses just that moment to simply disappear. The Ancient pauses, barely avoiding stumbling, and that brief hesitation is enough for invisible!Melita to slip her grasp. The next time the girl sees her friend, Mel is on the other side of the playing field, tucked somewhere behind the children that Aithne has tagged. So, too, is Calypso. Aithne curses beneath her breath, as the children who are frozen in place are serving as a temporary barricade that the Ancient must get through in order to find her targets.

Well, whatever. Since Melita is intermittently invisible, Aithne shifts her focus to Caly instead. Darting around the children, who are hopefully still stuck in place, Aithne makes a run for Calypso and tries to tag the other young woman.

RE: just let it slide - Melita - 12-31-2025

They sprinted and dodged over and over again, the swell of laughter and chaos brimming over the entanglement of mud within the Village, or the disgruntled, unimpressed looks of passersby. By the time they’d finished, and it’d grown slightly dark along the horizon, it was difficult to tell whom was it any longer, save for the hoard of children either constantly freezing or unfreezing.

Eventually, as the lantern lights were coming on and kids were being summoned home to dinner, Melita snorted, cupping her hands around her mouth to herald attention once more. [say]“Hey, great job everyone!”[/say] She instigated a round of applause, and if it sounded like it was coming from elsewhere and perhaps her chaos magic, then so be it. [say]“Time to head out! I’ll bother you all again some other time!”[/say] With that promise and conviction, they could handwave littles home and head out themselves, another day of chaos and amusement settled. For now.
