RE: a fire hazard - Deimos - 05-28-2026

If Deimos were any other individual within those barracks, her strategy would’ve probably been just fine. But it’d been a long, long while since he’d been torn apart by lethargy and exhaustion; and the fortitude, might, and perseverance was a well-honed device in his soul. It’d carved its niche in him long ago, from spars to battles to wars, marked by LongNights and poisonous vectors; but he still grinned as she made her way in a streak of smoke and sparks.

Shifting to the left, he let her breeze casually over him, reminding him of territorial swallow warning and marking their pathway. Thereafter, he jettisoned a streamlined bout of flame after her, like a preface, like a warning, that she’d embarked far too close to the sun. [say]Easier to confuse your opponent when they cannot see you coming,[/say] he hinted, like her previous strategy – though he understood why she’d strived to alter and change the direction, the front approach might not always serve her well.

RE: a fire hazard - Calypso - 05-30-2026

This is her first ever real training experience that wasn’t just testing and fucking around with foam weaponry. This experience has her focusing on it more like she’s indulging in the sunstreak shift within her, trusting its instincts to guide her as Deimos shifts to the left and she slips right past him. Exhaustion weighs at her, though, and she realizes she’s had the right idea when it comes to doing this before the hot springs.

Caly has no moment for respite, though, not as the flame beams after her in a very vibrant warning that she takes very much to heart, landing once the fire no longer becomes a threat. [say]That’s a good point.[/say] She agrees through the attuned bond, amusement and exhaustion lacing the edges of it. The sunstreak shifts her weight on her feet, peering back at Deimos with bright eyes. [say]I think I need a break, that was a lot of work.[/say] Another laugh accompanies it, warm and bright but quietly happy to have things she knows she can work on.

He snorted at the concession, but nodded along the interim of necessary breaks. [say]Understandable[/say], especially if that was her first and initial foray into striving with her shifts. Endurance, fortitude, and might came with practice, when one had to push their limitations outward in order to clamber anew. [say]Good work – go enjoy our hot springs,[/say] with an indulgent wrinkle of his nose in her direction, nodding and sending her off into the Deepfrost splendor – where she could recuperate from the day’s events. He, on the other hand, would be sweeping back through the training grounds themselves, ensuring everything was safe and secure, the flames back under control and command for another day and another moment in time.
