Tal’s hard fucking head (in all ways) slams into her chin, rattling her teeth and making her see stars. She trips backward and away, trying to get some space as the ringing in her ears and the pulsing of blood leaves her half-blind. It doesn’t help her gauge distance, but she grabs for another sphere, knowing the explosive radius will force him further backward even if it puts her back in range of his knife.
Maybe it’s a bitch move when they’d clearly been going for fisticuffs, but is that not the Valkyrie’s way?
Launching the ice sphere, fingertips tingling with cold, Ru tries to blink the stars out of her eyes and heaves through her aching teeth. She knows she’s close to done, but she can try and end it with a bang.

Ru reels and hops backward as far as she can to launch another ice sphere.
Type: Light | Style: Offensive | Level: Upgraded
Elemental Projectiles | A small bag with an unlimited supply of incredibly dense spheres of ice. Best when used with a slingshot, but can also be thrown. Explode upon impact in a 5ft radius. Will not melt while in the bag.

Honestly Tal would have felt more put out if Ru hadn't gone for the marbles. In fact, he was kind of expecting it, given who she was and how she'd taught him to fight. The only thing stopping him going for his Dagger again was the daze he'd put himself into with the headbutt. His head was hard, sure, but that just meant that his brain got just as bruised as Ru's chin when it was all said and done.
A few neurons were still firing though! Enough to make his legs move and fling him sideways so that he managed to blindly dodge the final projectile before the match was called. Tal blinked sheepishly up at Hotaru from where he'd landed in the sand and then the corner of his mouth kicked up in spite of how his first match had gone. "Best fuckin' teacher ever," he told her, pushing himself to his feet offering her a shoulder to lean on while they left the ring.
"Just, uh. Don't let your boyfriend beat me up til we get home, okay?" Someone had to fly the skyboat!
