RE: [SE] burned us down - Sohalia - 10-06-2024

Honestly, Soh was surprised that Zavien would want to meet her again, given all that he had likely heard of her and all that he might have surmised about her absence during the course of their conversation. Were their roles reversed, she might not have been so forgiving. But then, who was she kidding - of course she would have. After all, she had never learned from her mistakes, and she was still, at her heart, the trusting and naive girl from the Hollowed Grounds who had never learned of betrayal and heartbreak and all the rest of the grief she'd felt in the years since emerging into the rest of the world.

As for the man's offer of assistance in future, should she ever return to Stormbreak, the girl swallowed hard and nodded. [say]"Thank you,"[/say] she said, and it was clear that - despite her initial suspicion - she meant it. [say]"You've been very kind. I appreciate it more than I can say."[/say] After all, running into a strange man in King's End could have ended in many different ways, each more unpleasant than the last.

But now it was time to depart. And so Sohalia bid Zavien goodbye, gathered Tarak upon her shoulder, and made her way back to the Refuge.
